Wonderful house, needs some TLC.
Let me begin with the pros: The owner was very responsive. He accommodated our early check in request since we were driving up early to beat the holiday traffic and overall was very pleasant and easy to communicate with.
However, the house was not very well kept up. From the surface this home looks okay but once we had an opportunity to stay the night we realized how bad it was. There was an odor in the bedding we could not figure out. We washed the linen but realized it was the mattresses and pillows that were the cause. They were bad. So many stains on the pillows. Should really just replace them all. They look very old. We even found old blood stains on the mattress cover of one of the bunk beds. Honestly, it just looks like the house has not been kept up in a really long time. If they would have replaced the mattresses, pillows, bedding and towels then it would have been a more pleasant stay. The towels were rough!
Suggestions:
Needs new shower curtain in top bathroom. We only used the downstairs master shower because the upstairs curtain was gross.
Softer towels. (They were crispy and rough)
Curtains in bunk room are almost falling down.
Dusting of Cobb webs throughout the house.
The springs in the Mattress in bunk room were on the surface and so uncomfortable that we could not use them. Need to be replaced. My children had to sleep in our bed.
Pillows are stained and gross. Toss out!
Driveway was slippery and filled with ice unlike the neighbors. Dangerous!
