Lovingly restored town house within short walking distance of the center of beautiful Barjac
We, a family of five with kids aged 8, 6 and 4, tremendously enjoyed our one-week stay in August 2017. The beautiful house has been lovingly restored with all necessary amenities and lots of attention paid to detail. 3 bedrooms with each having their own fully equiped bathroom, a nice living room with lots of interesting books about the area and many games for children and adults, a large and well-equiped kitchen as well as a large terrace to the quiet back of the house as well as one to the front made for an exciting time at this wonderful house. Anna and her family are the most charming hosts with lots of ideas off the beaten track for visits to the beautiful surroundings in Ardèche. Caves, rivers and beautiful villages are all within close distance. We highly recommend this house and the hosts.

Holiday in Barjac
Had a fantastic time in Maison Brown and the village. House was very comfortable and tastefully equipped. Location was perfect for either spending time in the village or traveling further afield. Owners very welcoming and we would certainly recommend it to friends and hopefully will revisit in the future.

About the host

Host profile image
We have lived in Barjac since 2000, our four children were born in France and go to the local schools. We renovated our own house first before renovating this property. We began rentals in 2014.

What makes this property unique

Barjac is a beautiful little village with lots going on. We are able to walk to the shops and have all necessary amenities right on our doorstep. Seasonal fruit and vegetables are sold on the local market or from roadside vendors - cherries, apricots, peaches, melons... We're surrounded by hazy lavender fields and smiling sunflowers interspersed with vines and olives. We live in a region with a lovely climate and delicious food.
In the summer the old limestone houses keep cool in the summer due to their thick walls, if you close the old shutters you can take a nap in the afternoon. It's a joy to be able to eat outside on the terrace for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
