A wonderful place to stay!
Time went by so quickly ! Such an adorable , cozy little condo! Just the right size. With everything you need. We loved having a condo over a hotel. So much more reasonable and a whole condo to yourself! All you provide are your own food items. There is a washer and dryer in the unit so no need to over pack. The condo is comfortable and the bed was very comfortable. The huge windows are wonderful! There is no air conditioning as it is very expensive to run on the island. The afternoons are quite humid. If your like me , I melt. But there are two standing fans ..one in living room and one in bedroom. They helped . The morning's and the evenings were great and having the windows opened was all you needed. There are also three ceiling fans that help . The condo was sparkling clean. My standards for cleanliness is very high . The owner Leila is very sweet!! She always and as promptly as she can responds to any questions or concerns you may have. There is a pool on the premises and it is very refreshing. My husband and I very much enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back!
Mahalo Leila ❤
Randy and Dianne Stubblefield
Mahalo Dianne and Randy for your very kind review of our condo. Despite the heat and humidity I am happy you have enjoyed your stay. Typically Kauai starts to cool off in the early fall but it seems as though with the climate change it is staying hotter longer.
It has been a pleasure having you as our guests and getting to know you a little bit Dianne through our communication. We would love to have you back in the future. Do keep in mind that the winter months are the coolest time in Hawaii.
Mahalo Nui Loa,
We loved everything about this property. Fabulous location and views. I rolled out of bed and watched the sunrise then walked down and found my own waterfall! My daughter felt more fans were needed, she would have preferred central air : )
Thank you for taking the time to write your kind review.
I am sorry your daughter found not enough fans in the condo. Unfortunately with each room having ceiling fans in addition to two high tower floor fans we would be a bit over crowded with fans. :-)Thank you for the suggestion though and we can certainly look into that.
Yes, we would all love Air conditioning in Hawaii! That is a real luxury! Very few privately owned condos can afford the high cost of electric. Many owners at Sealodge had it installed and had to take it out because of the very high cost of their electricity bill. Guests were leaving it run 24/7, even when they went out.
You unfortunately hit the hottest summer in several years and the hottest month of the year in Hawaii. I am so sorry for this but the climate change is having a big impact on Hawaii's high summer temperatures. I believe during your stay it topped 90 degrees. If the trade winds weren't blowing but instead Kona winds, that makes for a very hot and sticky day!
We try to suggest to our guests to enjoy the heat of the day at the beach, pool or sightseeing and then typically by around 7 in the evening it starts to cool down for a more comfortable evening.
Ideally the spring and winter months are the most comfortable months in Hawaii. It can actually get so cool at night you need a blanket!
One thing for sure, if we had a/c our reasonable rates would need to be about double what they are now.
We do suggest one of the bigger hotels for people who find a/c a necessity, especially for health reasons.
We hope to see you on further trips to Kauai in the winter months! :-)
Hopefully you did experience some pleasurable days on the many beautiful beaches, or water sport sightseeing trips.
Mahalo again for your review.
Leila Halligan, Owner
This place was a great location right next to a beach and overlooking the ocean and had everything we needed for our stay. With hindsight in mind I definitely would have opted for a place with A/C, but there are a number of fans/windows that do what they can to help with the heat of the summer. Also big props to the host as she kept me informed of everything up to the day of my stay.
Thank you Jordan for taking the time to write a review. I am glad you found the condo to be satisfactory. I apologize for what has been a very hot summer, especially in August. Very few condo owners are able to maintain the cost of A/C with the high cost of electricity in Hawaii. Many installed it but guests were carelessly leaving it run all day when they went out and all night. Fortunately the evenings in Princeville do cool down allowing comfort for sleeping and early mornings are quite comfortable. Of course the trade winds do help quite a bit if they are blowing. Soon the condo will require a blanket at night and fans will be too chilly. The fall months are quite a change from summer. Pretty close to perfect!
Please keep us in mind for future travel to Princeville. It was a pleasure having you as guests and thank you for your business.
Stay at property
Property was clean, Even with construction underway, noise was a bit much, but understandable, Unit itself was very clean and well equipped with everything needed for convenience and comfort, beach supplies and cooler very helpful.
Property pool hours need to be expanded to 9p.m. They are 7p.m. very weird. Not even dark at 7p.m. and if your out sightseeing and need to cool of when you get back you can't,
Owner communications were excellent,
She is a very responsive, Personable owner.
we would stay here again for sure post construction.
Thank you for your review of our property. I am sorry for the inconveniences you experienced. Of course the construction is beyond the owner's control and is for the purpose of keeping guests and owners safe. Because of the close proximity of the B building to the ocean it is continuous upkeep to stay on top of weathered and aged areas of the buildings.
The pool area units are occupied by full time owners who have been given special consideration to an earlier "Quiet Time" for a quiet and private dinner hour.
Nice condo, great communication
Everything was as described, and the condo was clean and decorated very nicely. The front door sticks a little, but this was our only (extremely minor) issue with the condo itself. There were plenty of fans in the condo which was very much appreciated since it was unusually hot while we were visiting. There was construction taking place on the access from the parking lot, making it more difficult to get our luggage up to the room, but it looked like the project was nearing completion. We were normally gone during the hours they were working, so noise wasn't a factor. Thank you for letting us stay in your condo!
Thank you for taking the time to write a review on our condo.
This past summer has been particularly hot in Hawaii. I am sorry you had to hit record breaking heat.
The construction was unexpected and urgent for safety reasons so owners had very little time to notify guests. Sorry for any inconvenience. They are getting close to completion.
I appreciate you mentioning the "sticking door." I have reported this to our handyman.
Please keep us in mind for future travels to Kauai. Perhaps your next trip you could travel in the fall or winter months. The weather is gorgeous at that time of the year on Kauai. It gets really quite cool especially in the early morning and evenings, actually requiring a blanket.
Perfect place to stay on the north side of kauai
For the first time in Kauai, I couldn’t have asked for a better location. North side is where you want to be and by being right next to the princeville resort and other homes, you felt secluded and quiet and this was one of the few homes I’ve stayed in where it felt actually like home! Highly recommend. Also, love the cute decor!
Thank you for your very kind review of our condo B-12.
I am very glad that you found the condo comfortable, convenient, quiet and homey. It is a cozy little piece of paradise. :)
I hope you will keep us in mind for future travels to Princeville.
