This is a new 3,000 square foot, 4-season home on an island in the Lake of the Woods. This is a unique property, located on the Canadian Border, in an area called the NorthWest Angle, the Northernmost part of the continental Unites States. The "Angle" is bordered by Canada on all land sides, and by the Lake of the Woods on the water side. Access is either through Canada, or by boat or snowmobile 30 miles to the Angle (the Angle was a surveyor's mistake at the time the borders were made).
The Lake of the Woods, and the Angle is famous for fishing. The lake has 65,000 miles of lakeshore and 14,000 islands. Ice houses are available to rent for fishing in the winter. The lake is a great place to explore; take a visit to Fort St. Charles, see Native American petroglyphs on cliff walls, or take a day to boat to the city of Kenora at the North end of the lake for dining and shopping. Snowmobiling is great in the winter, with trails in the US as well as Canada.
