About Randy Warren
I am a builder of 30 years now retired. I built my first home on the Island above the airport. It wasn't long before I realized that I had made a big mistake. The pool was to cold to use ,the neighborhood was noisy and access to shopping , beaches etc was not at all what I wanted. I sold and found my present location. We are located just 4 miles south of downtown Kailua pier. Its perfect and I would not change the location for any other place on the Island . We have it all just minutes from the home.
Why Randy Warren chose Kahaluu Bay
King Kamehameha made is home just 1 mile from where our house is located. My thought was what better place to build my home . The king had his choice of all the islands .
What makes this House unique
Open air shuttle to shopping , farmers markets full of organic island fruits and vegetables , fine dinning and easy beach access. The home is at the end of a culdesac offering a very quite private experience . Sunset views of the ocean from the Lani and private sun bathing by the pool in the buff if you so desire.
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
The driveway is so steep. The basement is smelly. Other than these, it's awesome!
Thank you for the 5 stars , we are here as of Aug 27 , and are staying in the ohana basement that you refered to as smelly. We find it to have no odor . We are staying down there because we are replacing the roof. Randy
We loved it!
Our family group of 5 adults and 2 kids under 10 recently stayed at this property and we loved it. It was clean and spacious and had everything we needed. The lanai was beautiful and we spent most of our time out there because it was quite hot! The ocean breeze was SO nice. The 2 bedrooms in the back did get pretty hot, but the fans helped with that. The driveway is extremely steep so we ended up parking at the end of the driveway everyday. Several items available in the garage to use such as snorkel gear and coolers. The pool was beautiful and was so nice to have! There were a handful of beach towels and a couple beach chairs as well. If you're looking for an ultra modern space, this isn't the place for you. If you're looking for a clean, relaxed, beautiful home in a perfect location with a pool, this is definitely the place for you. Would definitely stay here again! I have a few pictures I'd be happy to share if anyone would like to message me privately. Also, excellent communication with Randy...he was so helpful and responded very quickly!
The house did not have air conditioning, run down, dirty walls, leaking water from bath tub to lower level.
Its amazing that we have so many 5 stars reviews both before and after this guest. And yet this guest felt it necessary to give us a one. She also called to tell me that there were Lizards (Geckos) in the home need I say more. Folks need to realize when going to the tropics in the summer its going to be hot. Not many homes by the ocean have ac. Its a luxury because of the cost of electricity . We pay 5 times the price per kilowatt hour on the islands. That translate to costs that would drive my nightly rate up $100/night . We do have AC in the studio because it doesn't have the ocean and mountain breezes that the main home has. If the home is designed correctly as is this home is AC just removes you from the tropical breezes. Dirty walls ? it was just repainted last year. We do have a Japanese soaking tub in the master bath that two can fit into. We also have a line in black stating not to fill over this line. If you do that and you enter the tub it will over flow and end up in the studio. Its known as displacement. This guest has obviously never been to Hawaii and rented a home. They needed to stay in a resort where all the Geckos are poisoned and the nightly rate for two is $300/night. That said they would have AC.
Great spot for family vacation to the Big Island
Randy’s property was as wonderful as advertised and reviewed by others. Plenty of room for our family of 5. A good neighborhood close to the best snorkel beach in kailua-Kona and far enough away from the hotel and cruise tourists to enjoy some quiet. The pool was a nice bonus. We would stay here again!
Minutes by car to Kailua-Kona, shopping centers, ice cream shop (Kona coffee ice cream, a must), restaurants, beaches and the departure marina of snorkeling boats, it’s tucked away at the end of a quiet residential cul-de-sac. Beautiful pool and the morning wake-up call by the chorus of birds was a very pleasant surprise. Like others have said, the driveway is “very” steep and lack of air conditioning a problem on the extremely warm and humid days.
Happy trip to Kona
We had our first family visit to Kona here, with one year old baby and grandparents. Everyone enjoyed themselves and felt at home.
