Beautiful location with lots of space
Owners were wonderful with communication. Location is beautiful with lots of privacy and space. House was equipped with everything we needed. A bit of a dog smell mostly downstairs, but overall we had a very comfortable stay.

Easy Spot
This was a clean and simple spot for our family group to use as home base during a summer wedding weekend in Waitsfield. The deck and backyard were ideal for our moments of downtime and the location was very quiet. Thank you!

Spring Skiing Weekend
Dave and Katie were amazing hosts. The views at sunset were priceless when we had a barbeque after skiing each day. The house was clean when we arrived and the updated kitchen had everything. In addition, they were very timely with answering questions about the property. Highly recommend staying here!

Beautiful spot, comfortable house, great hosts!
David and Katie have an awesome house in an even more awesome location! Very private setting, with awesome view of the mountains. The house was very clean and functional. Beds (and couches) were very comfortable and the house easily slept 10 of us on our stay. Kitchen had very nice new appliances, and an awesome stove/range. David checked in with us upon arrival, but was only present when contacted. They were very accommodating to our extra requests. Would recommend to any larger parties looking to explore the Mad River Valley or hit up the numerous ski slopes! Hope to be back at some point!!

About the host

We love Vermont. We ski all winter and hike in the summer. We enjoy drinking local craft beer, smoking meats, swimming in the river and laying in the hammock with a book.

We are working people with kids who like to get away to the mountains on the weekends. We think Vermont, and specifically the Mad River Valley are the perfect place to spend some time.

Why they chose this property

Valley View is perfect for a large family or group of friends who want to get away and plant themselves in the heart of the green mountains. Whether you're looking to reach the top of the nearby mountains or relax and stare at the view, there's something for everyone.

A short drive from 3 ski areas, the winter is filled with days on the hill or cross country trails. Snow shoeing from your front door is also a favorite activity of ours. The wood-burning stove will be the focal point for your family and friends when you return from a day in the snow.

We renovated Valley View in 2018. The kitchen was taken down to the studs. New appliances, cabinets, fixtures and lighting will let your inner chef come out. The large cut top island is perfect for you to employ plenty of helpers and sous chefs. Brand new hardwood floors upstairs invite you to walk around barefoot (we prefer you don't wear your shoes inside please) and create a warmth and elegance that carpeting misses.

Both master bedrooms are spacious with large walk-in closets. You'll wake up to views of the forest outside your window. The 2 bunk rooms have full width bunk beds, making the house both a perfect place for 2-3 families while also able to house 7 couples when you pull out the queen sized sleeper sofa.

The deck wraps around the house on the south side. A perfect place to enjoy your coffee in the morning and admire the view, watch the sun set, and chat over a cocktail before dinner.

Enjoy the expansive lawn for kids to play or toss a frisbee. Our forests connect to 100 acres of conservation land to explore, hike, and even XC ski. Valley View is the perfect place to enjoy the mountains, woods, and streams of Vermont.
