Two hours north of Manhattan lies the pristine Catskill mountains. This charming cape style home is the perfect secluded getaway for those looking to leave it all behind and bask in tranquility. Summertime means blueberries (high bush and low bush), raspberries, blackberries, and cool breezes blowing from the rich lustrous wetland that lays uphill from the main house.
With a covered back porch, and a nice sized front deck, within earshot of one of many babbling brooks, an intact eco-system teeming with frogs, birds, butterflies, porcupines, deer, this is the perfect getaway for a family (or families) looking to create special memories far away from the maddening crowds of the city. The bedrooms are cozy, there's a galley kitchen with electric stove/oven, full size fridge and dishwasher, a spacious living room stocked with puzzles and boardgames, and a small comfortable dining room is set off of the kitchen. Additional amenities include washer/dryer, fire pit, and gas grill. The area is absolutely perfect for cycling, with routes ranging from easy to crushing, depending on your preference. There is also satellite internet, but please note: OUR INTERNET IS NOT RELIABLE ENOUGH OR FAST ENOUGH FOR REMOTE WORK OR SCHOOL.
The 112 acres spans both sides of the road, and includes extensive woodland, streams that occasionally tumble into modest waterfalls, and a large marsh that attracts an extensive bird population.
Here is some recently shot, completely unedited drone footage that gives you a sense of the remoteness of the land and the beauty of the forest surrounding the property (copy and paste the URL into your browser to watch):
