Enjoy a memorable stay at a unique cabin that's the essence of Colorado mountain living. Relax and feel the energy that flows with the rustic bohemian design. Be inspired by the grand piano and guitars. Cozy up by the wood stove and enjoy great views. Log furniture, a pine archway and wood floors make the space warm and inviting. A deck, grill, books and games, in an ideal setting for anyone wanting to be near both the city and the alpine. Experience the Rockies in beautiful Coal Creek Canyon!
A sparkling clean and cozy cabin that feels like home as soon as you step inside. Natural lighting fills the front room through the windows that stretch from floor to ceiling, showcasing stunning sunsets over a forested landscape. Mount Thorodin provides an amazing view as it towers into the sky near the cabin. Open the windows to enjoy the cool and dry mountaintop breeze, and let it flow through the adorable 1400 square foot home. It's been the chosen location for film crews, weddings and honeymoons.
Perfect location to easily access both city excitement and mountain adventures. Perched between Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests on a quiet dirt road that is well maintained by the county. Enjoy the scenic 16 mile drive to fabulous skiing at Eldora Resort and wander through the fun and interesting mountain town of Nederland. World famous rock climbing in Eldorado Canyon State Park is located 20 miles away. Only 30 minutes to Boulder or Golden! Drive 27 miles and watch a concert at the renown Red Rocks Amphitheater. Unwind in the historic mountain casino towns of Black Hawk and Central City, only 45 minutes away. Take a gorgeous drive through Coal Creek Canyon and connect to the Scenic Peak to Peak Highway 119, full of phenomenal views around every bend. Estes Park, gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park, is only 54 miles away. 33 miles to Denver and 48 miles to Denver International Airport. It's just far and high enough in the mountains to have a truly alpine feel to it, yet close enough to conduct business in the city when needed.
The main room is open and a great place to gather with loved ones. Musicians will enjoy the fabulous acoustics of the space as they play the grand piano or strum on the guitars. Step onto the extensive front deck, which has a bench for quiet moments and wildlife watching, along with a propane grill for easy outdoor cooking. Enjoy access to unlimited high-speed wifi, a rare treat in the mountains! Many books and board games are available on the shelves, along with entertainment from the smart TV with soundbar, X Box, DVD player and DVDs. A wood burning stove adds to the ambiance with plenty of firewood stacked alongside the house, and fine art is on display by a talented local artist.
Take a walk around the neighborhood and enjoy a spectacular vista of the Continental Divide stretching from James Peak to Longs Peak. Maybe you'll catch a glimpse of local wildlife, such as a mountain lion, bear, deer or moose. Hiking trails abound in nearby state parks and national forests. Excellent opportunities for epic Jeep/ATV trails, disc golfing, cross country and downhill skiing. Endless climbing, mountain biking, fishing, wildlife and wildflower viewing. At 8900' elevation, it's a breath of fresh air to be in the altitude above it all. Between relaxing indoors or finding adventure outdoors, there's more than enough to enjoy and fill your senses.
The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking and baking, including a double oven with natural gas stove top, a toaster, microwave oven and professional strength blender. A French press, coffee grinder, and drip coffeemaker are all available. Cast iron and stone cookware throughout the kitchen. Electric and old-fashioned hot water kettles are provided. We supply coffee beans and an assortment of teas, including local Celestial Seasonings from Boulder (my personal favorite!) and hot chocolate mix. Breakfast items are included, along with salt and pepper, butter and many condiments.
The cabin has three cozy bedrooms featuring locally handmade four-poster beds in the two largest rooms. Highest quality linens are used for all bedding. Comfortable mattresses, plush comforters with duvets, and two pillows per person will ensure that everyone sleeps deeply throughout the dark and quiet mountain nights. Dressers and plenty of hangers will give you a place to unpack your suitcase and truly make yourself at home. Blackout shades, extra blankets and a fan are in each bedroom.
Step into the bright and sparkling bathroom to prepare for your day, with plenty of natural lighting and amenities. Use the dimmer switch to soften the mood in the evenings. Relax under the rain shower or turn on both shower heads and experience a complete drenching. It's incredibly refreshing after a day exploring the mountains! Feet stay toasty warm on the heated tile floor as you dry off with plump, hotel quality towels. Toiletries, a first aid kit, and a hair dryer are located under the sink.
