The Columbia River Gorge, with its mountains and rivers, offers the vacationer and recreation enthusiast the opportunity to windsurf, mountain bike, kayak, golf, ski, hike, fish, or just relax in the unhurried pace of a natural paradise. Historic buildings line the beautifully scenic streets of downtown Hood River, with a bustling shopping district featuring boutiques, designer shops, outdoor adventure gear outfitters, antique shops, art galleries and no less than 30 restaurants.

There are many orchards and vineyards in Hood River. The Hood River Valley is known for its luscious apples, pears, cherries, peaches and other fruits, and for the view of the majestic snowcapped peak of Mt. Hood. People from all over Oregon make an annual trek in the fall to the many farm stands to stock up on fresh apples and pears. Other produce is available, and varies by season. The award-winning Hood River Vineyards is located on a hillside overlooking the Hood River Valley. Their tasting room features traditional wines, and fruit liqueurs.

The Columbia River Gorge, with its magnificent views make this a dream spot for a destination wedding.

Wind surfing capital of the world is Hood River's latest distinction. The winds from the Columbia River Gorge, best during the middle of the day, create ideal conditions for riding the waves. To enjoy the view of "boardheads" at play, drive to the Columbia Gorge Sailpark or follow Second Street to the waterfront.

The Mt. Hood region and its more than sixty miles of forested mountains, 77 waterfalls and myriad lakes and streams are a rip-roaring mecca for outdoor adventure. The mountain is home to four ski areas and offers the country's only year-round skiing and snowboarding.

Country luxury
The property is just far enough out of the town centre to be quiet and peaceful for relaxation, but is still very convenient to get to shopping, restaurants, etc. Unlike some places we have rented, this one is even more special than the photos show. A lot of thought went into all the details when it was designed and decorated. If you like to cook (and who wouldn't want to in such a well-equipped kitchen?) there are an abundance of spices and such. To some people the yard might look a bit "wild" with all the natural vegetation instead of a regular lawn, but we thought it looked beautiful and added to the atmosphere. Our small dog certainly found it to be a place for adventure and stimulation! The birds also love all the surrounding trees; at any given time during the day we could discern at least six varieties simultaneously. Whether we were having morning coffee in the hot tub or a glass of wine of the porch swing, it's the perfect spot to rest up between adventures in the area.

Hood River hideaway
Baja Norte was the perfect spot for a weekend getaway with friends. It is very quiet and secluded yet close to town and all of the activities. The kitchen was very well appointed and our dog really appreciated the fully enclosed yard.

Wonderful Cabin
This was the perfect place for our family. Great location and had everything we needed. Loved the enclosed back porch so our toddler could go outside with our dog safely. Check in/out process super simple. Would absolutely stay here again.

A lovely little cabin
The house smelled (and was) very clean upon arrival. The hot tub was in excellent condition. It is a very well-maintained property. The bed was ok and there was a strange mis-mash of glasses at the house. I would definitely stay again.
