Lyons Woods is a fully-furnished home that is freshly updated. Situated on 150 feet of pristine, private frontage on historic Elmira Beach of Lake Michigan, the home features 3 bedrooms that can accommodate up to 7 people.

Plenty of space for a large family. A sandy beach for walking or just relaxing along the lake. The incomparable downtown Baileys Harbor (home to outstanding food at Chive's Restaurant, the best coffee ever at Bearded Heart, Door County Brewery with live music, marina, and more) is a 5-minute drive. The rest of charming Door County is all within 15-20 minutes of the property. Enjoy all of the modern comforts of home while surrounded by the beauty and tranquility of Door County, Wisconsin.

Better than expected!
The photos online don’t do this place justice! They look good online but it’s such a beautifully renovated cottage (especially the bathrooms!) and so well organized. The kitchen I packed full of everything you need. There were even kid plates and smaller cups. I noticed there was a pack’n play on site. There were some sand toys in a storage box on your way to the beach…and the beach…Oh my goodness. Every penny spent on our rental was worth it for the beach!!!!! This location couldn’t have been more perfect; kids or no kids but our kids were in heaven. We literally spent an entire day walking up and down the beach and playing in the sand/water. All the neighbors we met on the beach were so kind! It was quite windy during our trip so we weren’t able to enjoy a beach fire even though it was a little less windy on the beach but sun was sooo nice and warm! We will definitely be looking forward to staying here again!! Even our young kids weren’t ready to leave on Sunday!

Great place in the woods
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house is only about 15 minutes from several state parks with nice hikes. We saw more stars than we've ever seen before when we walked down to the beach at night. House was exceptionally clean and cozy.

Gorgeous family beach week!
Our family of 6 (children's ages range from 1 to 17!) enjoyed a 5 night stay at this beautiful cottage on the Lake Michigan Beach. The house was nicely acquainted for our needs and the access to the beach was amazing. We travel to Door County every summer and usually stay on the Green Bay side with lots of car trips to restaurants and other beaches. This time we never left the house--it really had it all for us and we really appreciated having a grill!!! Thank you for a great vacation.

Great Lake Beach House
We loved at stay at Lyon’s Woods. The house is an authentic 1960’s Lake House, very clean and lovingly remodeled with extremely comfortable beds and beautiful showers. First rate communications from the owner and plenty of parking. The beach was even better than we expected. Soft sand, great views and plenty of space for our group with 5 grandchildren to play games, build castles, swim out to the sand bar, fly kites and enjoy a campfire.

Why they chose this property

Lyons Woods is incredibly unique as it was the home of the original developer of the area, Mr. Lyons. Due to its proximity to Lake Michigan and set back from the road, Mr. Lyons considered the parcel of land it sits upon to be the finest on the block. The surrounding woods accentuate these features by providing wonderful privacy as well as insulation from the weather that Lake Michigan can produce. We could not agree more with Mr. Lyons' assessment and choice of this beautiful piece of property.

The home was hand built by the same individuals who constructed the well-known and timeless Olson Cottages (just down the beach). Custom cabinetry and built in furniture are special highlights of the home's interior finishes. The fireplace is Door County field stone- hand laid by local master masonry company of the era, Anderson masonry. Their signature is embedded into the the fireplace, aesthetically marked by the triangular shaped letter 'A' keystone centered on the hearth.

These one-of-a-kind features and more make this property so very special, and a true piece of Door County history.

What makes this property unique

The property's greatest feature is the 150 feet of sand beach on Lake Michigan. While most of Door County is rock beach, this property is among the few on the peninsula that sits on an all sand beach. Even when wading into the lake you won't find rocks or boulders, just sand under your feet, adding to the splendor and enjoyment of your stay.
