About this property

Former city jail! Just a block from restaurants, shops, trails and more!

This "zero step" loft style apartment features one bedroom with a king bed and a huge bathroom with vanity and walk-in shower. There is a very nice pull out sofa in the living area.

Wonderful 15 ft ceilings with exposed ductwork and brick, hardwood floors and a small patio outside your front door offer relaxing mornings and shaded afternoons to enjoy the Yadkin Valley and downtwon Elkin.

The kitchen has a full size refrigerator, dishwasher and stove. There is also a coffee maker, blender, toaster and all of the necessary cookware and cooking utensils.

Includes cable TV, DVD, modern appliances, linens, kitchen utensils, dishwasher, etc. Wireless Internet is available at no charge.

The living area and kitchen are open and feature a 60" high definition television, sectional and bar area.

Downtown Elkin is well maintained and thanks to some local entrepreneurs / committed citizens features some great amenities not offered in many towns of similar size.

The Liberty building is one block away and is home to Angry Troll Brewing which offers an extensive menu and many NC beers on tap. They also feature 10+ TVs offering sporting events of all types. They are open Thursday to Sunday for lunch and dinner.

The Reeves Theater and Cafe is one of the premier live music venues in the country. The Reeves Café serves a rotating menu of simple fresh fare with an emphasis on local ingredients while highlighting the beautiful produce, cheeses, and meats of the Yadkin Valley region of North Carolina.

The Bar at the Reeves is open during all shows and serves primarily local beer & wine.

There are two great coffee shops within EASY waling distance. The Barking Coyote Cafe offers coffee (no coffee drinks) but also features many farm to table products including wonderful scones and french toast frittata.

Dirty Joes is even closer and they do make a full range of coffee drinks, as well as offer some limited pre-made food with both indoor and outdoor seating.

The unit comes equipped with an initial supply of toilet paper, dish soap, hand soap, dishwasher detergent, etc. Daily maid service is NOT included.

Note: This unit will not open till early summer 2019

Host profile image
I've owned and operated vacation rentals for many years. I also am the founder of Lodgix.com, which is a web-based vacation rental management platforms in use by over 600 property managers across the world.

Why they chose this property

Elkin has no downtown vacation rentals and this property was just so ideally located and is so well built, I couldn't pass it up!

What makes this property unique

Twenty plus years ago, this property was the town jail. Today it's been converted into a vacation rental with 15' ceilings, exposed brick walls, two 60" LED televisions, a full kitchen and a luxurious bath with a walk-in tile / glass shower.
