A piece of heaven in North Carolina
If you’re thinking of staying at Cherry Mountain Farm, book your trip now! When I saw the photos of the house and farm on Vrbo, I thought it looked great but being there was truly amazing. The house is stunning, the porch has two seating areas, the farm is breathtaking, the animals are so much fun, and Debbi and Craig are wonderful. This was my first solo vacation, and I couldn’t have picked a better place to go. Horseback riding just a few minutes away from the farm, Asheville is just about an hour which made for a day trip to the Biltmore (and the scenery along the way is beautiful), and just sitting on the porch with a cup of coffee is heavenly. Debbi is the most amazing host – in the evenings, I even got to go with her to feed the goats, pigs, dogs and cat. Head to Rutherfordton, you won’t regret it!

Excellent in every way
There are so many things to love about this place. The cabin is absolutely beautiful and comfortable and stocked with everything you could possibly want. We loved the layout of the cabin and couldn't stop admiring the wooden beams, the lighting, the furnishings, the grounds, and the views. But, the most important thing to us was to make sure we were staying in a place that was right for our dogs. We couldn't have found a better place. The fenced in yard was big and lush and the dogs had plenty of room to run and play. They also loved playing with the Ellie Mae and Eli (two of the dogs that are lucky enough to live here!) The one mile path through the woods was the icing on the cake. Definitely worth mentioning is how much fun it is to see the farm animals. And the general store on the premises was one of the best general stores we've seen. In addition to all of that, the owner, Debbi, was a joy to be around. After a few minutes with her, we knew we had a new friend. We know we will be back every year. It was a perfect place to stay!

Can never say enough good things about this property! The fact that we keep coming back is testament to how awesome Debbi and Craig are. So much to do on the farm and the surrounding areas. The kids love it here and cannot get enough.

What a wonderful place
We have come to stay with Debbi and Craig for the third year. The house on the farm is absolutely gorgeous and has everything one think off. My favorite time is to sit with a coffee on the porch in the morning watching our dogs play and enjoying the peace when my kids are still asleep and the eves when watching the stars. Debbi is always available for any advice on outings or to let the pups out as needed. It is so wonderful to be at a place where kids and animals are loved and embraced even if not always convenient or super easy. Thanks Debbi and Craig.

I am originally from Queens New York , lived in
St. Louis MO and Rochester NY before working in South Florida for 30 years before retiring and building our dream farm in Western North Carolina. I worked as a Pediatric ICU Nurse then transitioned to medical sales . My husband grew up in W. Palm Beach and retired as a Captain with the Town of Palm Beach Fire Dept in 2012. His family roots were from Burlington/Greensboro/Mebane area of NC but we wanted to be closer to the mountains so we settled in the Foothills . Craig's creativity can be seen all over the farm and it really makes this place unique. I do the farm tours and manage all the animal care and love to talk with our visitors. No matter where our visitors come from we find we always have something in common. We love living in the area and sharing our little slice of heaven with visitors.

Why they chose this property

This is such a great area and is close to so many fun things to do. We are less than 30 minutes from Tryon International Equestrian Center, waterfalls, hiking, lots of cool towns close by, etc. Our timber frame guest house offers a very warm and inviting space for you to enjoy our beautiful farm or as your resting place after touring the area. We bought the property in 2007 and the only thing on it was an 8 acre hayfield so everything you see , we have done.
It's a great place for kids since they have lots of room and we are pet friendly so our yard is perfect for dog (s) ...only 2 please. Many of our guests feel no need to leave the farm other than for basic needs. We're fortunate to have great internet and a fun store and friendly animals. You will have a beautiful fire pit and a nice grilled hooked up to an underground tank so we don't have to worry about you running out of gas in the middle of grilling! Easy access in and no scary roads to navigate at night.
You can check our Facebook page to see if we have a food truck (S) or entertainment during your stay. We sometimes host a bluegrass or local music ( nothing too loud) when the weather is nice in Spring and Fall ( July and Aug get pretty hot during the day) and Sat and sometimes Sunday we have local food trucks usually from 11-4.

What makes this property unique

The sounds and sights of our farm will make you want to come back again! Our animals enjoy visitors, and so do we! If you want to be left alone, we know how to do that! This is a working farm and you have freedom to walk around and visit the animals. There is a mile and 1/3 trail through the woods for your morning or evening walks and plenty of other areas to explore. We are really proud of our great reviews and will always make sure you will not be disappointed with your stay at Cherry Mountain Farm!
