Big house but dissapointing
The house was as advertised, so what you see is what you get. Until we arrived the communication was fine and the owners were waiting for us. On arrival a quick tour of the house and garden and where the brochures were. All ok so far. Then we were told that there was no WiFi available, as there was a big problem in the area with the provider. A shame but that was not really a problem, even if you consider that you phone reception isn't good either. After being in the house a little we noticed that on both toilets were missing the flush buttons, we could still flush, but not very nice. The neighbours are restoring the house, which means working on the Saturday and then having 20 people drinking and shouting through the night. I did not take that into account in my review of the house, as this is not the vault of the owners and luckily was only the Saturday. But I feel I have to mention it. The area is beautiful and you need to drive a bit to be able to see all the sites, but we did not mind. My main complaint though, was the communication. I have to admit we were ill prepared for our activities. There were a million brochures, which we thought were great, but most were outdated. It just felt as they were not really bothered with keeping this up to date anymore. Finally when we were leaving, we tried to get in touch several times on how to proceed, with the inspection/payment of the cleaning etc. To my surprise we have never received any message and we left with putting money on the table and the key in the inside of the door. The next day we got a wopping big bill for electricity and heating (in the summer). I find this a little disgusting. All in all, I would not come back. The owners do not seems very involved anymore and don't really care about you. The house was big, but needs some love. Shame

Gemütliche Ferienwohnung
Die Ferienwohnung ist sehr sauber und gemütlich. Man fühlt sich direkt zuhause. Es gibt alles was man benötigt.

Lovely house in a lovely area.
The gite was very well equipped and comfortable. Probably one of the best we have stayed in over many years. The surrounding countryside is variable, with flat plains , hills and lakes. If you are interested in Ww1 the preserved trenches in the area are the best I have seen. Verdun and Nancy, which are a short drive away, are both historical and picturesque.

"Let's not let our villages die!" This is the motto of Chantal and Jean François Collot, domiciled in Thillot under the coasts.
For this they did not spare their trouble; They have invested to give life to houses to welcome tourists from France and elsewhere in comfort deserving the 5 stars. "We really want them to feel at home." Chantal told us recently. Successful bet! And Jean François to retort "most remain in touch, they have even become friends." She is there, proof that the reception is there. With their legendary friendliness they receive and advise on the many riches of our heritage, demonstrating that the Meuse is not limited to Verdun and 14-18. They make them discover our gastronomy with mirabelle, obviously but also peaches and apricots, the local delicatessens and our vineyard.
To promote tourism for these meusiens there is not that the affair of the general council and the tourist offices but that of all, each must complement to promote our beautiful department and there is no need to mirror To see that it is beautiful.
Finally, to demonstrate the good life and the well-being of Meuse, it is certain that this is the concern of Chantal and Jean François and as such they become actors of local development and dynamism.
They invite you to discover their little cuckoo nests on their site "les gî".
We can only wish our regional ambassadors every success.
