About this property

Exquisite Lower Riviera View Cottage

Elegant 1926 Craftsman home offers views, gardens and peaceful ambiance. With a stunning outdoor entertainment deck overlooking the Pacific, Channel Islands & downtown not to mention gracious kitchen, charm and appointments, this home is the perfect pied-a-terre for enjoying Santa Barbara. Steps away from the Santa Barbara Mission, El Encanto, Alice Keck Park and six blocks to State Street, it is truly an enchanting and delightful place to stay on the spectacular Lower Riviera/Upper East.

Ocean, island and downtown views are available from the Master suite with french doors opening onto a fabulous entertainment deck with sofa sectional and dining for six with gas weber grill. Surrounded on all sides by a lovely fenced garden, views of roses, fruit trees, wisteria and succulents can be seen along with a gorgeous Mediterranean fountain, not to mention a small pond with fountain greeting one by the front door. The marvelous, well-stocked kitchen with Viking stove, Bosch dishwasher, Subzero refrigerator, filtered water, Nespresso machine, granite countertops and bar, make cooking and entertaining a joy. The traditional dining room includes a period dining table with seats for six. An original, hand-hewn Santa Barbara sandstone hearth with a gas-lit fire warms the comfortable living room with a large flat screen smart tv with Roku, Youtubetv and fast internet and wifi. Vintage sconces and chandeliers, hardwood floors and french doors lend grace and charm throughout. The detached one-car garage is included for storage and your sports gear. There is an off-street parking spot with an angled driveway that many use. Otherwise, there is free parking on the street.

Located on a quiet street, this house is a private gem. It is tucked down off the street with gardens on all sides. Once inside, the home opens up its charms with classic appointments and lovely vistas. From the front living room the pretty front garden can be seen. From the back of the home, the large deck inspires with its panoramic views of the islands, Pacific ocean, downtown courthouse, Arlington theatre, harbor mouth and to the right views of trees, rooftops and the Mesa. The afternoon sun sets over the deck creating orange-infused vistas through the trees.

The guest bedroom with its ensuite bathroom is located right off the living room and is far from the master bedroom. There is a private outdoor patio space outside of the guest bedroom in the front garden, offering a separate spot for morning coffee or tea.

Other information: There is an additional lower garden suite towards the back of the property with it's own gate, pathway and entrance occupied by a single quiet professional.

Beautiful Property in the Santa Barbara Hills!
We had a wonderful stay in this lovely cottage. It was exactly what we were looking for. Gorgeous views, walkable and private. This was our first VRBO experience and we went into it not knowing for sure what to expect. The house and gardens exceeded our expectations. It was like staying in a high-end hotel nestled in a quiet neighborhood. Kelly was very responsive to our questions, attended to all our needs quickly. Santa Barbara is such a beautiful location, and this house with its expansive deck and views of the islands was a perfect showcase for it. We hope we can return someday (the sooner the better).

Bungalow with a view!
We loved our little bungalow with breakfast, lunch an dinner on the deck with a view of the city, the ocean and the islands. Nice, well stocked kitchen. The landlady was very responsive with any little concerns. Two couples worked fine for a few days then great for the two of us for the rest of the month. Well located near town and Interesting area to walk around the neighborhood. Just right for us!

Beautiful House with Beautiful View
My wife, small son and I stayed her for 3 months. We had a fantastic experience and could not have been happier. House was perfect for us, you could open all the windows and get the cross breeze through the whole house. Coming in the front gate you are welcomed by a sweet garden and fountain, everything was coming into bloom while we were there. There is a large galley kitchen looking out to the large dining room, and the deck and the fantastic view. The living room was a good size with a lovely fireplace and TV. The two bedrooms suited us very well, the master bedroom was a very comfortable size with tons of storage and the main bathroom was well appointed and a generous size. The second bed room was slightly smaller than the master but has an en-suite full bath. The deck...that was something else, the kitchen and the master bedroom both open out to it, via french doors. very spacious, great furniture, tons of seating (sectional couch and dining table, both with large umbrellas.) and a fantastic grille. The view was to die for, to the east you have the ocean and to the west you had the hills. I would go out there every morning and every evening. My wife and son spent many days relaxing and playing in the sun. The stars at night were amazing and so clear. There is an apartment below with a lovely garden and fountain and with courteous neighbors. The neighborhood is fantastic, lovely walks, great architecture, quiet, El Encanto is just up the hill. The house is perched on the hill, but the location was perfect for us, the right distance from the busyness of down town, 5 min away by car. Kelly, the house owner was great, sweet and friendly, if we needed anything or if anything went wrong she addressed it immediately. We highly recommend this house and I hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did.
