About this property

Perfect Lake Retreat featured in Yankee Magazine. Newly Renovated in 2015!

This charming cottage with whimsical decor has beautiful lake and mountain views. Lake Wentworth is a quiet 3000 acre lake known for its crystal clear water, sandy bottom and great fishing. The location is private, yet you are only three miles from Wolfeboro, 'The Oldest Summer Resort in America,' and Lake Winnipesaukee. Decorated with antiques and 'shabby chic' style furniture, it was featured in Yankee Magazine's May 2006 magazine. There is a newly renovated kitchen, sun room dining area, and beamed cathedral ceiling and fireplace in the upstairs living room. A large deck with 2 seating areas is close to the water's edge, as well as a new vaulted ceiling screened porch that connects with the master bedroom and kitchen. The new first floor has amazing lake views from every space, all at the edge of the water! A second family room with fireplace, game room, laundry room and two new baths provide lots of space to hang out separately or together! A private dock and swimming raft are steps from the house. The house has four private bedrooms and sleeps 8. In the fall, enjoy the lakefront patio with portable fire pit table, or the two indoor fireplaces. This is not your typical rental- it is perfect for a single family or several couples. PLEASE message me before renting- I will not accept any rental requests made directly on line without communicating with potential renters.

Perfect Vacation
What a wonderful week. The house and location couldn’t have been more perfect. We had enough space to spread out (4 adult children visited for part of week) and then come together for dinner. Lots to do in the area - Sabet’s “book” is full of fabulous recommendations! And the view!!! Beautiful. We were so comfortable - all creature comforts taken care of - including welcome treats! Thanks, Sabet, for sharing your home with us!

It really is the perfect lake retreat!
Lovely home on quiet Wentworth Lake! The master bedroom with private bath opens out onto the screened-in porch, the perfect place to relax. You can bask in the sun on the deck just off the kitchen, living room and second bedroom, which has a full bath off of it. The lower level offers two more bedrooms opening out to the lake, with a family room and two full baths. Plenty of space for eight adults. There is a little protected area from where you enter the lake. Relax on a float or take the kayaks for a ride. My family has vacationed in Wolfeboro since the early 60's. My four siblings and adult nephew and niece all agreed it is the best house we have ever stayed in. Sabet is wonderful! Thank you for a wonderful week.

Amazing, just book it!
This home is magical, no joke. From the moment we arrived it did NOT feel like a rental, it felt like a warm ,cozy, beautiful, love and light filled home. We have rented countless homes and never had an owner as thoughtful and welcoming as Sabet. It is obvious that she not only cares and loves this home, but she genuinely wants to ensure an outstanding guest experience. Every details is thought of to ensure a wonderful stay. The decor in the home is functional, stylish and comfortable. Everything looked very Pottery Barn mixed with custom cottage chic, vintage touches. The Lake is serene, the fall colors were breathtaking and the home is so wonderful we were happy to spend most of our time there. We kayaked, sat by the fire pit, made delish meals, antiqued and relaxed. Each room in the home has character and plenty of space. The downstairs is a walk out with plenty of light, a large TV, wood burning fireplace and comfy furnishings. Its clear all the previous renters have given the home the respect and care it deserves because everything was in great condition. The downtown is close and offers several dining options and cute shops. This felt less like a rental and more like a "home swap". I am a tough crowd and I HIGHLY recommend this place. Would give it six stars if I could! Thank you Sabet for the lovely stay as well as all your thoughtfulness that made it so welcoming.

The pictures do not lie!
Wonderful home with plenty of space! Lots of room to spread out and still a cozy warm feeling. Modern kitchen fully equipped, cable TV for the kids along with Wifi meant the adults could enjoy the rocking chairs on the deck with a wonderful sunset & bottle of wine! We cannot wait to go back....thank you Sabet!

The Property was amazing.
To say that this home is charming would be an understatement. From the minute we pulled into the driveway, we were thrilled with the house, the view, and especially the Treats that Sabet left for us. Knowing that the weekend was birthday gift for my husband, she included Birthday hats, plates, napkins and candles. Also, a bottle of our favorite wine and a packed full /Farm bought Apple Pie. The kitchen was wonderful to work in. Having a complete view of the lake from all windows was just perfect. Lake Wentworth is a gem- close to Winnipesaukee, but without crowds. The home is right in Wolfeboro, so it took us only mins. to get in to the center. If you know Wolfeboro you know how special that is. Sabet left us lists of favorite restaurants, and shared little hints about the house to help us navigate. Each room was great- Family room was roomy enough for all 7 of us to gather. But, there were rooms downstairs to find some time for quiet to read or work, or catch the Pat's game on a rainy day. Beds were very comfortable. The house was immaculate. I just can't say enough about how wonderful our stay was. We had two children with us. One is 4 and one is 2, we did move a few items that looked tempting, but the house was very cozy, warm and inviting for each one of us. None of us wanted to leave- that says it all. We cooked in most nights, but did grab lunch at Nolan's Brick Oven Bistro with the kids, and it was just delicious. The Sandwiches were made with Homemade bread and rolls. The waitresses could not have been more friendly. Low key, and fun lunch. We will remember our Columbus day weekend 2016 for a very long time with fond memories.

We bought this house in 2002, and each year we try to add something new to keep the house fresh. We have loved the process of renovating, and adding new surprises for our repeat guests to find when they arrive each year! We live in Richmond, VA and love our getaway time at the lake. The new renovation is amazing, and gives us lots more spaces to fill with the wonderful NH antique finds!

Why they chose this property

We have all of the benefits of the "big lake" with out the crazy boat traffic you now find there. You might go an entire day with only a few boats passing by, and the occasional seaplane landing in front of the house! Our beautiful views, crystal clear water and proximity to Wolfeboro make it a perfect retreat!
