This is a fully winterized, four-season cottage/home, with vaulted ceilings and panoramic views of the lake. Outside there's a large deck and screened in summerhouse, both of which overlook the lake. Southern exposure provides sun all day long and the sunsets from the dock can be spectacular. Although the cottage feels very private, there are only about 20 or so steps to the beach, with 2 natural rest areas and sturdy railings (except for the last few steps to the beach).
The 110' feet of pristine private sandy beach is spectacular and really sets this property apart in summer! The beach is perfect for young children to splash about and for people of all ages to have safe, gentle access to the lake. But there is also deep water off the dock for those of you who love to jump or dive in! The water is clean and clear and beautiful, with no pesky weeds in the swimming area.
For the winter, the cottage has baseboard heating in every bedroom, both bathrooms, and the living and dining room. They are wifi controlled so you will arrive to a nice warm cottage. The cottage is very close to snowmobile trails and about half an hour away from Sir Sam's where you can ski, snowshoe and snowboard in the terrain park. They have a ski school and lots of programs for the kids. The cottage is also very close to Haliburton and people love the dog sledding tours through the forest! Closer to home, you can play on the frozen lake - shovel off a space to skate on the ice, make a curling rink, or just take a walk through the forest and enjoy the beauty! Or, stay in, put on a fire, and while away the days reading and relaxing, and playing cards or board games.
Inside is newly renovated and beautifully furnished with hardwood floors, an Aretmano dining table made from Indian rosewood, granite counter tops and high-end appliances. The kitchen is very well appointed and ideal for those who love to cook. The living room is spacious and open concept with a wood burning fireplace for those chilly evenings.
The three bedrooms are perfect for 2 couples with room for several children in the bunk bed in the middle bedroom (twin XL over queen), or 3 adult couples with 1 child, or 6 adults. The master bedroom has a king size bed, ensuite bathroom with a Jacuzzi tub, and is flooded with daylight thanks to sliding glass doors on the south side, and a large window on the north side. The 3rd bedroom has two twin XL mattresses with a king size foam mattress topper. The topper can easily come off and the beds can be pulled apart for those who need to share a room, but want a separate bed.
All of our beds are top of the line and very comfortable, and our linens, always freshly laundered before your arrival, are cozy fleece and flannels in the winter, and cool cotton in the summer.

BBQ:
We have a brand new Weber grill, and typically stock a couple of extra tanks of propane. We also have a charcoal BBQ for those of you who prefer to grill those steaks old school style.
Outdoor furniture:
We have outdoor couches and chairs and an outdoor dining set on the deck, and some chairs and a picnic table down on the beach.
Water:
We have a well that is checked regularly and has never had an issue, but it can taste a bit minerally. It is totally fine to drink, but you might prefer to bring some with you. Filtering the water works really well!
Entertainment:
The TV is a smart TV and you can use your Netflix account, and you can “cast” movies and Spotify from your devices.
There is an Xbox with some games, and it can also be used as a DVD player. There are a few DVDs at the cottage, and you can get others at the little store in Gooderham quite inexpensively. We are also pleased to provide a few board games and some books.
We have a blue tooth speaker in the master bedroom, and a speaker in the 3rd bedroom that you can use to play music from your smartphones/iPods etc…
Heating:
Every room has baseboard heating that we can turn on so the cottage will be warm if you are arriving in the winter.
Fireplace:
The fire is very efficient and adds a wonderful ambience at night.
Forget something?
The little store in Gooderham has pretty much everything you could ever need (except fresh meat). They have everything from soup to nuts including fresh vegetables, dairy, products water, charcoal, lighters, snacks…! Gooderham also boasts a remarkably well appointed LCBO, a gas station, and a Chinese/American diner.
Looking for something to do?
Check out this site for things to do in the Haliburton area:

You are about 20 minutes from Haliburton, which has some cute little stores and an art gallery to explore. Up River makes a very nice latte, and they have lovely things in the store. You can also grab lunch at one of the cafes (Baked and Battered, and Kozy Korner), or lunch or dinner at McKech’s, if you don’t feel like cooking.
Haliburton Wolf Centre is also open some days – but you should check online for opening times.
Minden is about 35 minutes away – and is also a cute little town for exploring. Rhubarb is a very nice restaurant for dinner – and is on the way to Minden. Bancroft is larger, but is farther.
Smoking:
One key thing… Please do not smoke in the cottage. If anyone does smoke outside, can you please dispose of all remains? Thank you so much!
We love our cottage and our neighbours, many of whom have been there for the past 50 years! We ask that you please be mindful of noise, especially at night.
PLEASE NOTE: Our property does not include the boathouse to the right of the beach (when you are facing the lake), or the boats leaning against the boathouse.
