About this property

High Cotton | Pet Friendly, Mountain View, Hot Tub

The view of the Great Smoky Mountains from High Cotton is so glorious, you’re going to want to spend as much time outdoors savoring it as possible. This three-bedroom cabin has a large wraparound porch that allows you to do just that. Beneath the covered porch, you can kick back on rockers while larks and wrens put on a concert. You can dine alfresco, too, either in the shade of the porch or out on the open patio: The cabin has two picnic tables. There’s a charcoal grill alongside the patio so that you can cook as well as eat outdoors amid the fresh breeze. And perhaps best of all, the porch includes a spacious hot tub. A soak among its massaging jets of water is especially pampering after a day on the go.

You can also relish the view of the mountains and the trees from inside High Cotton. The great room features a bevy of picture windows looking out toward the Smokies. Even as you stretch out on one of the leather sofas to watch TV or gather by the fireplace to enjoy après-ski drinks, you’ll almost feel as if you’re outdoors.

The same is true as you sit down for a meal at the great room’s dining table, which easily seats six people; if you have guests, four people can belly up to the adjacent breakfast bar. The breakfast bar doubles as additional kitchen counter space, and because of the room’s open layout, you’ll have no shortage of helpers to assist with meal prep: You can even watch TV from there—if you can look away from the mountain vista, that is. The kitchen is fully equipped with appliances, cookware, and tableware; whether you’re dishing up pancakes for breakfast or hosting a holiday feast, you’ll find all the gear you need. There’s even a dishwasher, because nobody wants to scrub plates while on vacation.

Each of High Cotton’s three bedrooms includes a comfortable queen-size bed, a TV, and plenty of storage. Between the restful furnishings and the serenading of the whippoorwills in the surrounding woodlands, you’re sure to enjoy a fabulous night’s sleep. One of the bedrooms has its own private bathroom; the other two bedrooms share the second bathroom. You’ll arrive to find the beds impeccably made and plenty of clean towels in the bathrooms, so that’s one less thing you have to worry about.

High Cotton’s other amenities include free WiFi, cable TV, CD and DVD players, and a washer and dryer. Not only can you pack light, but you can even return home with clean clothes in your luggage for a change!

High Cotton is located in Gatlinburg’s Cobbly Nob neighborhood, which is within a 1,000-acre resort. This quiet, sought-after area includes beautiful walking trails and two swimming pools you can use for free in the summer. If you like to golf, bring your clubs: At the foot of the neighborhood, less than ten minutes from the cabin, is the Bent Creek Golf Course, designed by Grand Slam winner Gary Player.

Equally close to High Cotton is Climb Works, where you can explore the mountains via zip line or mountain bike. Within a 15-drive are the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and the Smoky Mountains Arts & Crafts Community, an 8-mile trail of more than 120 galleries, shops, and studios. And in less than a half-hour you can be in downtown Gatlinburg, home to the Guinness World Records Adventure, Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies, thrill rides, arcades, shops, restaurants, distilleries, and so much more.

When you stay at High Cotton you can revel in the serenity and natural beauty of the Smoky Mountains, partake of numerous outdoor adventures, and easily access the myriad local attractions and amusements. So what are you waiting for? Book your stay today. We’re looking forward to seeing you!

I would not recommend this property at all. It’s filthy and not in good shape.
So when we got here the property was in very poor shape. It was cleaned very subpar and I couldn’t believe the condition it was in for the amount of money that we paid for it. We chose this property because my grandmother was with us and she is in a wheelchair so we needed something with rooms on the main level. While I loved the area it was in, this was by far the poorest maintained house in the area. There was mold around the living room windows, dog poop and dog food under the beds, the Jacuzzi was not functional, and the house is just not properly maintained. I did not say anything to the property manager while I was there because I did not want a negative review reflected on my account or for them to charge my account anything for stuff that was wrong. However, I did video everything and documented everything with photos that were time stamped of everything that was wrong with the property. The furniture and the beds are absolutely awful and the mattresses are stained. The front door is cracked by the handle, there are scratches along almost all the walls and the amount of dust in there was totally due to the lack of cleanliness in the home. I can’t believe that they rent this property out in the condition that it’s in. It’s absolutely disgusting. With that being said, I will highlight that the views were great. That’s it. Luckily, my wife and I did a bunch of hiking so the only time we were at the property is when it was time to come home to sleep and I have dinner. Please do yourself a favor and select another property to rent, at least until this one is completely redone.

Location and High Cotton layout
The location, house layout, and yard/parking was fantastic for our family of 6 plus pets. While the house is very dated and in need of some repairs (chipped walls, paint, scratches on wood, holes in linoleum in bathroom, wall vents look dirty but just need repainted or replaced, and hot tub had a broken tooth found in it), it was comfortable/lived-in is best description. We arrived at 6pm on Friday looking forward to time in the hot tub only to find it empty. Several calls and emails later, the hot tub was finally filled on Saturday mid-morning after being told someone was going to be out Friday evening. Overall, the quick trip was fun, the house was well stocked to cook, and we enjoyed our time.

Property in Poor Repair
Neither shower works properly. Hot tub doesn’t hold water. House doesn’t provide enough hot water to fill the jacuzzi tub. Broken and missing blinds. Location is great and view is amazing. Needs repair. Would think these issues would be addressed before renting the property.
