The Cabin is Secluded 3BD/2BA overlooking pond and near local attractions

Welcome to your "Home Away From Home"! Tucked nearly a half mile off the road, this house is the prefect get-away, very private and peaceful . Nestled on a hill over-looking a stocked pond you'll have everything you need to unwind and relax, while still being close to lots of local attractions. Great place for couples wanting a relaxing getaway.

If you want to come and stay put, you'll have everything you need. You can relax and sip coffee in a rocking chair on the covered front porch, fish in the stocked pond, or grill on a state park style charcoal grill and eat at the patio table on the paved patio, also there is a fire pit so bring lots of firewood so you can sit outside and roast hot dogs or smores. Inside you'll have all the comforts of home including a full stocked kitchen, satellite tv, free wifi, and washing machine and dryer.

With 2 queen beds and 1 full size bed, and two full bathrooms, the house accommodates 5 adults. The master and one of the bedrooms have their own TV. The kitchen is equipped with electric stove/oven, full sized refrigerator, coffee maker and grinder, blender and other small appliances as well as dishes, glasses, pots, pans -etc.

Pleasant Retreat Cabin is located near lots of attractions for a wide variety of interests. If hunting or hiking is your thing, we're close to the Shawnee National Forest which is full of turkeys and big whitetail deer. A covered car port is available to store your hunting gear or bikes. If other outdoor activities get you excited, you'll love that we're 6 minutes from the Tunnel Hill Bike Trail, Ferne Cliff State Park and the Cache River Nature Area, Lake Egypt only 20 minutes away, Plus you can enjoy hiking scenic Shawnee National Forest with several trails available year around, several local Winery's. This property does not allow any Hunting, boating, swimming or ice skating.

Great cabin in the woods
The cabin and surrounding area exceeded all of our expectations. We had a great view of the eclipse, and fantastic birding at the property and nearby sites (Heron Pond & Mermet Lake). Highlights were the barred owl and pileated woodpeckers in the woods near the cabin. We may have to come again, just for the birding! Thanks Dennis!

Peaceful retreat in the woods
This location was absolutely perfect for my family’s spring break hiking trip. The house was clean and accommodations were just what we needed. We saw plenty of wildlife and even did some fishing. We would definitely stay again when in the area.

Get a way and birthday celebration
The property is amazing. The location was perfect. The house had everything we needed. Had a regular coffee pot and a Kurig. Important for our group. Fire pit and patio area was where we spent time. Listening to the wildlife was so nice. Had a trail on property and we took a walk. Would have loved to have had more time to walk grounds.

A lovely weekend in the country with the elders
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Just a few suggestions: 1. Couches/arm chairs are low for old people to get out of. Offer 1-2 higher chairs, but not as high as kitchen. 2. Provide directions for TV audio and speaker. We never did figure out speaker, and it took several hours to get tv audio. Couldn’t call or email you bc no signal to even get wifi info. 3. Your driving directions have the wrong address (3320 instead of 3220) - made it interesting arriving after dark!.

Peaceful Setting
Peaceful, quiet setting on a well maintained property. This was our third time staying here and we hope to come back again. Limited cell service but WI-FI is very strong so Wi-Fi calling works great if needed.
