About this property

★BEST VIEW Wonderland ★ Cozy Cabin on Pond

There is no better time to enjoy #thecountryexperience

Summer is finally here and you can go in the pond without turning blue. The floating dock is in the water and the water trampoline too.

Enjoy a campfire roasting marshmallows while singing songs or telling ghost.

Or perhaps, you will be able to name more than the Big and Little Dipper and Cassiopeia in the starlit sky.

Stay indoors and enjoy a wood burning fireplace and cuddle up on a recliner you'll want to take home with you.

Perhaps you will be named Scrabble Champ or Backgammon King or will clean your friends in a all-night poker game.

And for the movie buff, we have over 120 titles from Casablanca to "This is 40"

When the water is calm, the pond is great for a long canoe ride or bring your own kayaks. We will also leave a few fishing poles so you can try your luck to catch some of the trout in the pond.

Bring your Quad and go for hours on many back roads.

A great place for a Thanksgiving Dinner, Family Reunion or Ringing in the New Year.

The Country is a Winter wonderland - with your outside play limited only to your imagination.

Nestled on an one acre Mature Treed Lot with plenty of landscaped lawn at Cabin level. The Road continues down to the lower level to provide pond access and a boat launch and floating dock and large lower deck.

Hawcos Pond is a beautiful big pond great for canoeing, water skiing, swimming and jet skiing. You could even land your plane and drive up to the dock.

The cabin is 46 * 28 with 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms in an open concept bungalow style overlooking Hawcos Pond with full length 8 foot wide Deck on Pond side. The cabin was fully renovated 5 years ago and can be used 12 months of the year.

The master bedroom has an ensuite with a shower/tub enclosure. All bedrooms have queen sized beds

Spruce flooring throughout - nicely decorated - wonderful homey feeling.

Signs at the place remind that laughter and not always following the rules are name of the game.

The Country is within 15 minutes of a top-ranked Golf Course - the Wilds -
And Salmonier Nature Park - housing woodland creatures and a great walking

As part of the Irish Loop and close to the Baccalieu Trail, The Country is a great place to have as your home base - if you plan to hike or sightsee.

Do yourself a favour and head to Mad Rocks Cafe in Bay Roberts for their baked beans and toutons with molasses

Directions:

Exit Highway at Salmonier Line (Route 90) and at top of the exit ramp turn left toward St. Mary's and Drive 9.5 kms.

Turn right at Vineland Road just passed Dalcourt Variety on the right and before Fola's Diner on the left.

Drive 2.2 kms on Vineland Road and Turn Right on Pioneer Line

Drive 3.3 kms on Pioneer Line and Lot 142 "The Country" is on your left.

Tip - there is a cabin titled 3.2k inn - on the right - we are 0.1km beyond that 😀.

If your in need of relaxation, quiet time and distressing…..this is your location !
The cabin and area was not what we were expecting….it was much more. Lots of space and privacy, cabin was clean and beautifully decorated. We lacked for nothing, it was outfitted with mostly everything you could use. If we ever return, it will be for more than 3 nights.

The Country
We had an excellent experience at the cabin in the country. The place was just as advertised if not better. Thanks for all the wood for the fireplace. That was especially nice to have.

Great weekend getaway!
Our family rented this cottage for 3 nights on Nov 11 weekend. The property was clean and homey , and had everything we needed. The check in and put process was easy and hassle-free. All the promised amenities were accurate, with a few additions (a complimentary bottle of wine and arrival snack, wifi). The days were perfect for quad ( our own) and canoe rides. The fireplace kept us cozy for evenings of playing games, watching movies, and reading. We relaxed, laughed, ate, drank, all the while feeling like we were staying at an old friends’ place. We cannot wait to visit again!

When I was a young boy growing up in St. John's, we would often visit a family property at Windsor Lake that had been in the family for generations. We would refer to it as going to the Country - because Windsor Lake was out there. Years later, we referred to our cabin as such which became the perfect name for our place.

I have lived off and on in Newfoundland for most of my life living in St. John's as a kid and graduating from Bishops College in 1980 and doing my Bachelor of Commerce at Memorial before heading off to do my MBA at Dalhousie.

I have lived in Conception Bay South and now Paradise for the past 27 years.

In August 2017, I embarked on becoming a VRBO Owner to share my family's cabin which has been in my life for 35 years.

#thecountryexperience has breathed life into me and sharing that space is a transformative experience.

I have travelled extensively in my life and whenever possible choose to stay in B&B's and small inns.

I enjoy meeting new people and expanding my view of the world.

I love the outdoors and taking pictures of the sky.

I am a poet & hiker.

Why they chose this property

Whether indoors or outdoors, you will be excited about staying at this GREAT WONDERLAND.

It’s worth visiting at any time of the year.

What makes this property unique

The entire property with the exception of the shed on property is yours to enjoy.

Sleep inside or pitch a tent and sleep on the grass.

Lots of parking on property
