*New* HOT TUB Just Installed!

COOL MOUNTAIN SUMMER IS HERE! Bear Ridge Cabin is a cozy & secluded cabin, near Highlands, NC. Elevation 3881 feet. Enjoy easy access to/from FL & GA. Comes with your own peaceful waterfall. Everything you need is right at your fingertips. Enjoy a full 15 acres of cool mountain air. Some of the natural features include streams, waterfall, trout fishing & trails. All on the property. Maybe you just want cozy to up inside & play games with your family? Bear Ridge Cabin has those too. PRICED LOW TO RENT this summer! Enjoy Upscale Highlands, NC without paying upscale prices!

SPACE:
Come enjoy a full twnety acres of cool mountain living. The secluded and private home has two bedrooms, brand new bathroom, full kitchen, dining, living room with a pull out sofa, screened in porch with a hot tub and huge deck. It has everything you need to get away! Even if it's just for a night.

GUEST ACCESS:
Our guests have access to the entire twenty acres. Which is shared by our homestead and guest cabin on the other side of the property. There are many, many natural mountain features for you to enjoy!

GUEST INTERACTION:
Interactions with us are totally optional, but if you need anything, we are usually just on the other side of the property. Privacy is also deeply respected if so desired.

GETTING AROUND:
Access to the property is right off of Dillard road (NC Hwy 106). This is the main, newly paved road from Georgia. Only 6.5 miles before Highlands, NC! Though the cabin's driveway is long, it is very well maintained. Bear Ridge Cabin is easily accessible for any sized vehicle. This is of course under normal weather conditions. In the case of snow or ice, our guests may need to have a high profile, all wheel drive vehicle to access. If that sort of vehicle doesn't exist in your case, then it is usually possible to park on a different portion of our property. This would be in a parking area where it is paved, and a easy walk up up a short hill to your cabin to cozy in for a cold night.

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE:
PETS: $30 Cleaning fee. Pets are encouraged & allowed! As pet owners know, they are a lot of work sometimes. A $100 fee will be charged if a pet is visiting and is not declared. No exceptions. All pets MUST be very well socialized with other people/animals and cleaned up after, inside and out. Socialization is very important because there are many other well-loved, domestic and farm animals on far portions of the property. Pets ARE NOT allowed on the furniture and must be kept in crates when left alone at the cabin. All this being said, we really do enjoy seeing new pet friends around! We hope to see yours!

ADDITIONAL NOTES ABOUT PETS:
We have onsite security. Have no fear, our entire homestead is watched over by Samson! A wonderfully huge & goofy black Newfie that is friendly with all nice creatures. He is always so excited to meet new people and new pet friends. Don't be alarmed when he comes to say hi! He would never even hurt a fly. :-)

SMOKING: No smoking inside. $100 Fee will be charged if this rule is broken. Smoking outside is permitted but all ashes must be put out in a safe container and litter must be picked up.

Filthy
While the cabin is rustic and dated, it was also FILTHY. The dishes and pots were dirty, the drawers filled with crumbs, cigarette ashes on hot tub railing, dust and debris behind chairs, and so on. There were other issues with the hot tub and heating but the filth was noteworthy. Too bad photos can not be uploaded because they tell the story better than words.

Mountain Getaway
The cabin was just what we wanted. Secluded, guiet & comfortable. We really enjoyed the hot tub and building a real fire in the fireplace. I highly recommend this property. Our only regret is we didn't book one more night.

Sweet and cozy
Cozy cabin in the woods! The hot tub was a nice bonus! Just a warning to others- we didn’t have cell reception in the area so screen shot your directions to the cabin. The cabin has WiFi so no problems after we connected.

Overpriced
The cabin is rustic at best. No smoke detectors but gas heaters positioned right under the drapes. No lights in the bedrooms other than one lamp each. The doors don’t stay latched. No washer/ dryer. The toaster oven was filthy. There is a gas grill but no gas. Had steaks for Easter since restaurants were closed. Went to put them on the grill and found there was no propane tank. Had to cook them in the oven. Place shouldn’t be on VRBO until it’s safe. The step up to the door was higher than it should be. Trip hazard. Way overpriced for what you get.

Hidden Gem
Should have just followed the directions given to us by the owners. GPS is a no go but it was a fun little side excursion. We stayed for our sons 9th bday (Jan 1st baby) it’s hard to find fun things to do while cold and raining but the hot tub was a winner. The kids had fun riding the little coaster right down the road but the visits from Samson was the highlight of the weekend. Such a sweetheart! Thanks for a wonderful memory filled stay!
