About this property

Gingercake Acres- next to Linville Gorge Wilderness. Pet friendly!

That place where you go to truly relax. Rustic and cozy antique hand-hewn log cabin up a winding single lane gravel road in the quaint and beautifully remote mountain community of Gingercake Acres.

Breathe deeply. Sit. Listen to the quiet. Read. Take an epic hike. Nap peacefully. Fire up the charcoal grill and have a fabulous summer supper on the screened porch. Perfect your s'mores at the fire pit. Stargaze.

Make your own memories. Our family certainly has.

Main level open living/dining/kitchen with Grandfather stone fireplace and gas logs, den with futon for extra sleeping, and half bath. Queen and twin bedrooms, full bath with tub/shower combo, and laundry are downstairs on lower level.

Stroll the rhododendron and mountain laurel-lined neighborhood roads. Or hike forever and never run out of trails! You are literally right beside the Linville Gorge Wilderness Area. Get the free LGmaps trail app on your phone. You have probably heard of Sitting Bear, Hawks Bill and Table Rock. If not, you should...

Cooled naturally by mountain breezes at approximately 4000 feet elevation, no central A/C.

Bring your dog(s). They love to hike, too! No pet fee. Small children will need supervision. No more than 4 adults, please.

Basic Roku channels and Netflix on TV with no cable. Sketchy cell service only - use wifi setting on phone for calls. Texts may be more reliable. This is a remote rural mountain location - internet is great until it's not. Outages happen and AT&T repair service is slow.

Please note: Gingercake pool is not available to guests.

Beautiful!
I've stayed at this cabin several times. I walked into the cabin and the room was flooded with gold -- from a grove of Sasafras trees off the deck, the leaves were bright yellow. Like magic!

Why they chose this property

It's like camp. That's the best way we can describe it. Years and years of hiking, campfires, cookouts, screened porch dinners, swimming in rivers and creeks and waterfalls, and just hanging out.
