What a gem?
Oh...my...gosh... there are not enough superlatives to describe our satisfaction with this property. Don’t let the modest exterior fool you. Once inside the door it was immaculately clean, beautifully and classily decorated, with attention given to details we never would have expected. The kitchen was appointed with top end ‘everything’. Our favorite spot for morning coffee and evening cocktails was the balcony overlooking the backyard where we were entertained by curious squirrels and serenaded by birds and cicadas. We will forever treasure memories of riding bikes through the neighborhood and toasting the sunset at lake front. We were favorably Impressed by the friendly and helpful neighbors - from the first cheery greetings, through helpful tips on dining/activities, to patiently offering directions to the disoriented travelers. It was a fabulous weekend in NOTL! We’ll be back.
great location near Lake Ontario & downtown NOTL
Quick response to texts; issue w/ AC handled remotely during our absence; lovely place to stay with a family
Perfect place, perfect weekend
My 3 sisters, niece and I stayed here for the weekend celebrating our nieces 30th birthday. It was a perfect location and house for all 5 of us. The house was well decorated with tasteful and traditional decor. The outside space was well cared for and inviting.
Our host had provided enough coffee for our first morning which we were grateful for, since we had forgot. There was also information on local activities including complimentary wine tastings.
The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of linens and towels. We completely enjoyed our stay. It was a perfect location to all the local wineries and shopping. Our only disappointment was we didn't plan enough time to enjoy this perfect home.
5 stars - Wonderful vacation home
This home was wonderful in every way and we were so impressed. It was charmingly decorated and immaculately clean. The appliances, fixtures, flooring, and furnishings were all up to date. The air conditioning worked well and was much appreciated, since the weather was warm. The backyard balcony could be accessed from 2 bedrooms, and it overlooked a lovely and lush garden with a picnic table and several other little tables and chairs. What impressed us the most, however, was the responsiveness of the owner to a problem: The whole neighborhood experienced a short power outage, and we realized about 10:00 pm that the outage had caused the WIFI to malfunction. We emailed Linda, thinking we might get a response the next day. She called promptly and, when they couldn’t figure out the solution, she had a tech person call that same night to solve the problem. Problem fixed in a matter of minutes! It takes less than 5 minutes to walk to a park on the shore of Lake Ontario—the sunsets are amazing! If you get a chance, walk through the neighborhood to see the different types of houses. They range from small cottages to large mansions, and the yards and gardens are lovely. We recommend strolling through the delightful downtown of Niagara on the Lake and exploring the fun shops. One evening we bought goodies from the various stores and brought them home for a memorable picnic in the backyard.
We are 2 couples from Oklahoma and Texas who may never make it back to Niagara on the Lake (except in our memories), but if we did, we would never stay anywhere else.
Just want we needed!!!
We really enjoyed staying at this house. It had plenty of room for the five of us and honestly had the most comfortable beds! It was super convenient to the town, wineries and other attractions we went to throughout the weekend. We agreed that we would absolutely stay here again!
Thanks Megan for the wonderful review.
Looking forward to you staying again at my place :)
Nice cottage convenient to lake and Old Town Niagara-on-the-Lake.
What appears to be nondescript from the street is a very comfortable and suitably appointed split level house about 2 blocks from Lake Ontario and a 15-20 minute walk from the shopping district in Old Town Niagara-on-the Lake. We were 2 couples and the house had all we needed for our short stay including a very well stocked kitchen (appliances), nice bath facilities, comfortable beds with nice linens, and 2 well stocked bathrooms. The owners provided plenty of consumable items that we did not need to purchase anything for our 4-night stay other than the food we wanted. The close proximity to the Old Town area allowed for nice walks in the beautiful neighborhood. Niagara-on-the-Lake is an excellent place to go for a quick vacation especially if you are interested in the wine country experience, Niagara Falls, and even a trip into Toronto. We all enjoyed using this house as our base for this quick vacation trip and would encourage any group of 6 or less to consider it for the value it presents.
