A Peaceful Retreat
The Garden Suite was absolutely perfect and far surpassed my expectations. The host was a great communicator both before and during our stay. The room was exactly as pictured and described - beautiful, clean, peaceful and quiet. The small details really made it a top notch experience, food basics and dishes made a quick morning meal and coffee feasible. The town itself was very cute and had countless restaurants to choose from. I would definitely book this spot again!

Such a Wonderful Stay
I had such a great time in San Diego, due in part to having the opportunity to call this place home for a few days. Edith was a wonderful host and I look forward to going back to visit - I'll certainly stay here again!

An excellent place to stay
Charming, quiet, clean with all necessities plus extras such as fresh fruit. San Diego breezes blew in through the large windows cooling the room or if you wish a/c is available . Small table outside front door is private and perfect for morning coffee or evening drinks. Definitely an excellent place to stay.

Great for Business Trip!
I had a business trip that my husband came along for. This property provided everything that we needed. The mini fridge was large enough to hold the food we brought. The space was comfortable and tranquil. When we chose to eat out, we were in easy driving distance of great options. We really enjoyed our stay and look forward to come back to explore the city even more.

About the host

Host profile image
I grew up in San Diego. After 20 years studying and working in Boston, New York, and London, I can honestly say there is no place like home. San Diego is a magnificent city and California inspires the soul. Our glorious garden studio efficiency for two is the perfect base from which to explore the city. A short walk through the charming, historic village of Kensington takes you to Adams Avenue, with shops, fitness studios, cafes, restaurants, a library, renowned art-film house called the Ken Cinema, and more. A ten-minute drive gets you to the trendy breweries and other night spots of Normal Heights and North Park and the tranquility of Balboa Park, with its museums, theatres, and zoo. A fifteen-minute drive gets you multiple beaches. A seven-minute drive gets you to San Diego State University, the University of San Diego, and Qualcomm Stadium. The garden suite is attached to the main house but is entirely separate, so that you'll have complete privacy.

Why they chose this property

If you're looking for an immaculately clean, quiet, elegant getaway, in a neighborhood that's one of San Diego's best kept secrets, this is the place for you! Kensington is charming and historic with garden-lined streets. It provides a respite from the hubbub of the beach communities and downtown.
