About this property

Victorian Farmhouse with office space · Victorian Farmhouse in the Valley with open spaces

The Victorian Farmhouse has been lovingly restored and is on the National Register of Historic Places. It has the ambience of the old days but luxury features that our guests enjoy, including fireplaces (gas log) in each of the bedrooms as well as private bathrooms in each bedroom. The kitchen is very well equipped for the gourmet cook in your group!

Located only 15 minutes to downtown Asheville and only 10 minutes to Weaverville. The Blue Ridge Parkway is only 5 miles away.

Comfort, casual, luxury is how our guests describe the Carolina Jewel. As you enter the great room of the house circa 1845, the smell of leather and wood sets the atmosphere for your days to come.

The large level lawn of the Carolina Jewel is idea for children to play and for all to gather around the fire pit in the North Carolina evenings. The night sky is dark and the stars are magnificent! A small creek runs through the property creating a wonderful melody of splashes cascading over the moss covered rocks.

The house also has an old fashion parlor with high speed wifi and a smart TV with cable. It has a comfortable roll top desk for those who need a comfortable work space.

Guests at the Carolina Jewel have full access to the entire house, porches, yard, swing, creek and lots of fresh air and space!

The Carolina Jewel Victorian Farmhouse is at the entrance to the upscale Hawks Landing Community.

We welcome fur babies, there is a $100 pet fee.

Mixed Family for Thanksgiving
This house was praised by every guest at the holiday weekend. The kitchen was IDEAL for cooking a large meal: gas range, gas oven and a convection oven. Every bedroom was lovely, bed comfy and dripping with whimsy and charm. In spite of the age of this historic beauty, our discerning group all noted that this was an extremely clean and well appointed house. Everything we needed was provided and we're hoping to re-book this lovely home for Thanksgiving 2023.

A Memorable and Delightful Stay
We couldn't have found a more perfect place to enjoy a wedding celebration. The house is rich with history; so well equipped we lacked for nothing; each room uniquely and comfortably designed; and the beauty of the setting made for an ideal stay. Eva was super in helping and communicating with us with ideas and things to do. Wished it had been longer! The whole family so enjoyed the stay. Thank You!!

Perfect spot for gals’ getaway
My party of six women—friends going back as far as elementary school—recently stayed at the Carolina Jewel as a late celebration of a “milestone” birthday for all of us. The house was perfect for our group—spotless, spacious, and very comfortable, with a well-stocked kitchen, and a large living room with a gas fireplace (one of seven in the house) that was perfect for our late night confabs. Easy access to a great hiking trail (Rattlesnake Lodge), Weaverville shops and restaurants, and Asheville. Eva was very accessible and responsive to our questions and requests, and she was a great resource for restaurants and sightseeing recommendations. We all had a fabulous time at the Carolina Jewel!

Family getaway
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! The house is amazing! So many little touches throughout: a separate coffee maker upstairs so you can wake up before joining everyone else; photo history of the house!; very well-equipped kitchen (everything you might forget to pack is there!; beautiful property!; and many more upgrades. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!!!!!!

Michael and Eva are both Asheville natives and love to brag about it! Michael is a 3rd generation jeweler and Eva spent 25 years in the travel business. They have traveled the world and are always happy to come back home to Asheville.

Why they chose this property

As the 4th generation demonstrated amazing ability to run the family business, Michael and Eva stepped aside to let their daughter have her chance at taking it to a 5th generation! When the historic Victorian Farmhouse in the beautiful Reems Creek Valley came available the timing was perfect to create a vacation rental home that can be enjoyed not only by the Greene family but families from across the world.

What makes this property unique

There are many unique features of the Carolina Jewel. With the original portion of the house having been build in 1845 it is like going back in time. The larger Victorian addition was added onto the house in 1880. Lovingly restored in 1998-2000 the house was rewired and bathrooms added for each bedroom. But the original charm was retained. Reems Creek Valley is one of the most beautiful in North Carolina. There are green fields of hay, big mountains, fluffy clouds, cool mornings and much much more that makes it the perfect combination of history, luxury, and convenience.
