About this property

Winter time! Charming Family Friendly - West Shore Tahoe Cabin

Vacation Home Rental permit # 072732. Our cabin (IG @tahoebigpinecabin) is a two bedroom, two bathroom welcoming home which sleeps 5-7 people. The living room, dining nook and kitchen are an open floor plan, allowing for time with family or friends to make memories. The kitchen is stocked with essential cooking equipment to prepare meals. We also have a gas BBQ for outdoor grilling, along with an outdoor table on the front deck. As the Tahoe summer/fall evenings can be chilly, you can warm up by the wood-burning fireplace in the living room. We also have a mudroom with a washer and dryer and storage benches to store snow or beach items.

The two bedrooms are upstairs, along with the larger bathroom. Another full bathroom, with a shower/tub, is downstairs. One bedroom has a queen sized bed and a comfy chair for reading. The second bedroom has one full-sized bed and a twin/full bunk bed, perfect for the kiddos – big and small.

For our younger guests we have some toys, books, games, a pack ‘n play, a table high chair and children’s plates/bowls/cups/utensils. For the older guests we have books, games and a TV with Apple TV.

We fell in love with Tahoma a few years ago and love the West Shore location. The neighborhood is tranquil with a sense of community. Within a 10-minute walking distance from our cabin is a recreational pier and beach, a children’s playground, coffee/ice cream shop, a local general market and a pizza place. We are also one mile from Chambers Landing, a popular summer/fall location with a beach, pier and bar/grill (if you go make sure to try their punch).

Within a short drive from our cabin are:

• Sugar Pine Point State park, great for hiking (5-min drive)

• Homewood ski resort (5-min drive)

• Meeks bay, a sandy beach with shallow water and optimal family-friendly location (10-min drive)

• Famous Emerald Bay and D.L. Bliss State Park (15-min drive south)

• Camp Richardson, which is a popular area for the summertime (30-min drive south)

If you want a more lively area than Tahoma, Tahoe City is a 15-minute drive north from Tahoma. Tahoe City has more restaurants, beaches, large playgrounds, gas stations and larger supermarkets for all your needs. On the drive to Tahoe City there are a few gems along the way which are some of our favorite places to eat & drink along the West Shore. If you are new to the area we are happy to help guide you and provide you with recommendations.

Please let us know if you are interested in our ski lease option as well!

Please note- we do not allow service animals due to health and safety reason.

Too short a stay!
This is a convenient, pleasant cabin in a quiet neighborhood with all necessary cooking and other items. We got it at the last minute but the hosts prepared it quickly and with a nice welcome. We would definitely stay here again.

Short Tahoe Trip
Great, cozy cabin (bedrooms are upstairs). Communication with the owners was great. It was convenient and had everything you would want in a stay (except the unpredictability of Tahoe weather).

Highly Recommend
This was our first trip to Lake Tahoe, and I was debating if we should stay at north or south Tahoe. I am glad we choose this west Tahoe house. It’s in a central location and within manageable driving distance to both Kings Beach in north Tahoe and south Tahoe village. It’s very convenient to drive to Emerald bay and Pope Beach. The house itself is nice and clean, very cozy and have everything we need to cook breakfast and spaghetti dinner. The house is in a quiet and very wooded neighborhood. The community pier is an easy 10 minutes’ walk and does involve crossing Rt. 89, which is not difficult at all. I loved the hammock among the trees. Communications with Jon were easy and effective. We enjoyed our Lake Tahoe experience despite the impact from the wildfires.

Expecting a refund for one night. Need update
Couldn't get TV to work, Owner had construction of a horse shoe pit being put in, 3 days with workers parking in front of house and walking to rear yard. Only place to sit was on front deck and workers going in and out. Smoke, neighbors talking about bears and description to keep food off counters when leaving house. Not relaxing! floors and rugs difty

We have been together for many years and have two little ones.

Why they chose this property

We fell in love with Tahoma when our oldest child was only 6 weeks old. It was our first family vacation together. Ever since we have visited the West shore during all the seasons and loving it more and more. We jumped at the opportunity to buy our cozy cabin (Big Pine Cabin as we like to call it). We put a lot of love and some updates in the cabin after purchasing.

Our cabin is very family oriented and love sharing our cabin with other families and indviduals that will respect our little spot in Tahoe. We hope you enjoy your stay and make memories @tahoebigpinecabin
