About this property

Trout House - Amazing Summer and Winter Home on the Shields River

4+ bedrooms, 2.5 bath, 10 acres to fish over 1,000 feet of Shields River! This is a beautiful home to enjoy winter sports or fishing - year round - all while being 10 minutes from lively Livingston!

This completely updated and remodeled home sits on 10 acres with breathtaking mountain views in every direction. Less than 1 hour drive to Yellowstone and a 10 minute drive to Livingston and Clyde Park, this home is the perfect place to feel local, relax, watch wildlife and fish.

In the winter, you can take the backroads to Bridger Bowl Ski Area on the east slope of the Bridger Mountain range. It’s a memorable and beautiful “less traveled” road in Montana well worth the drive (only 33 miles in a car).

Relax on the large deck and enjoy the mountain views and visiting wildlife.

Fish the Shields River on the property or the Yellowstone River just minutes away.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION: This gorgeous newly remodeled home is about as perfect as they come! Easily accessed off a paved road with amazing views and opportunity for fishing and wildlife viewing. The home is beautifully furnished and offers lots of privacy! The cabin is located on the Shields River, about 10 minutes from the tiny town of Clyde Park in the Shields River valley, and about 10 minutes from historic and lively Livingston.

BEDROOMS AND BATHS: The home has four bedrooms and three bathrooms. The master bedroom has beautiful views, and a king size bed with luxurious bedding for a restful night's sleep. The attached master bathroom has a soaking tub and a large shower. The other upstairs bedrooms share a bathroom off the hall. One of the upstairs bedrooms has 2 single twin beds, and the other has a log queen bed. The bedroom on the other side of the house is connected to a game/media room and has a queen bed, there is also an optional pull out futon.

KITCHEN: The kitchen opens to the dining area and has an electric range and oven, microwave, dishwasher, and all the cookware and serving ware you could need. The dining table seats six and there is also stool seating at the counter.

LIVING ROOM: The cozy living room has a wood burning stove and large windows overlooking the expansive property. The leather furnishings are very tasteful, as well as comfortable. There is a big screen television with satellite as well as some games, puzzles and books for more relaxed entertainment. There are music channels available through the satellite TV, as well as an Amazon Alexa player to play your own music or inquire about the weather.

SETTING, ACREAGE, VIEWS: The home sits on over 10 acres off of Hwy 89 just about 10 minutes north of Livingston. Views of the rugged Crazy Mountains, Absarokas, and Bangtail Mountains is all you can see from the home!

OUTDOOR AMENITIES: The home has a large patio with plenty of outdoor furniture and a gas grill. Bird and wildlife-watching opportunities abound. You will see fox, deer, and plenty of birds (big and small). The fishing is amazing right from the property with multiple pools filled with trout. This is a CATCH AND RELEASE ONLY stream.

2 flat screen tvs, equipped with Dish, high speed internet, a place to hang your fly rods, and all only a few short minutes to the historical city of Livingston and the fun and quaint town of Clyde Park.

For your convenience there is a lock box with key on the pillar by the double doors on the west side of the porch. There is a key for the side door and the front door. You have full access to the home, the acreage surrounding, and most exciting - the world class trout fishing right there on the property! The Shields River is walk /wadable most of the year, or you can fish from the banks, right there at the property. You can watch the neighbors horses from the fence line on the Northside of the home and explore at your leisure the property & river.

Garbage service is not available at this location, there are several places nearby to dispose of your bagged garbage, a map will be provided.

Gorgeous location
This house is absolutely beautiful and in the most amazing location. The house was perfect for us. The only down side was the internet didn't work for us so we couldn't use Netflix or anything while we were there (tried resetting it but still didn't work) other than that it was a perfect stay and would 100% recommend.
