About this property

Cabin with access to the Slide of the Madison River close to Yellowstone

10% off weekly rate! The Madison Channels Riverfront Cabin, built in 2016, is just 35 miles from West Yellowstone, the western gate of Yellowstone Park, and 40 miles south of Ennis. The local lakes, Cliff & Wade, Henry's, Hebgen and Quake Lakes, are close for fishing, swimming and boating. A short hike down a hill (about 100 yards) to the world famous stretch of the Madison River known as the Channels and Slide allows exclusive "property owner" access to the western side of the river and for a "wilderness" experience. Hike up Sheep Creek trail for a stunning view of nature.

The cabin is on 20 acres with three bedrooms and three bathrooms. It offers total privacy, exclusive Madison River access and unmatched mountain and valley views with lots of wildlife. There is plenty of room to relax under the covered porch watching antelope, eagles and big horned sheep. Great for gatherings of family and friends. Over 100% Sustainabilty. You will want to come back year after year!

All of the comforts of home are available to you. The living room has satellite TV, WiFi DSL internet, DVD player and queen sleeper sofa. The kitchen has Silestone counter tops and new appliances including dishwasher. The laundry room has a washer and dryer. The first floor of the cabin has two bedrooms, one master bedroom with a queen bed and adjoining 3/4 bath and one bedroom with a double bed. There's an outside staircase that leads to a private spacious studio or third bedroom which has a queen bed, queen sleeper sofa, kitchenette, 3/4 bath and walk-in closet.

Sportsman's Paradise neighborhood is about 50 homes located on 20 or more acres each, some over 100 acres. Several creeks run through it. The Continental divide is the South boundary and the Madison River is the North boundary. The East boundary is the National Forest and the Henry mountains. To the West is Highway 87. Sheep Creek road is a Forest service maintained road that is the main road and leads to the Sheep Creek trail head.

You will see antelope, Golden eagles, Rocky Mountain goats and more on or from the cabin most days. Seasonally, you will see Bighorn sheep, deer, wolves, bears, elk, moose, otters, badgers, foxes and other species. You can walk from the cabin to the trail head, along the river or to the brink of the Slide.

5 star property!
We had a fabulous time. Visited the park just as the aspen were turning. The cabin was a perfect home base for visiting the park, not to close or to far away. We had our own personal Antelope heard greeting us each morning just outside the cabin. Very peaceful area. The cabin was very nice and well stocked. We had a prefect time. Couldn’t have asked for more. Thanks so much. Rawlen and Yvonne

Great stay!
This is a terrific cabin in a fabulous location. The house had everything we needed for a very comfortable week-long stay, and served as a great base of operation for visiting Yellowstone. In addition to the beautiful surroundings, the location is remote enough to offer peace and solitude, while being a short and picturesque drive from West Yellowstone and the entrance to the national park. I highly recommend this cabin and we plan to return!

Breathtaking!
This cabin and location was beautiful! Clean everything we needed! Minutes from Yellowstone. We rented ATVs in town and rode the trails to more breathtaking views! Went hiking close to cabin. Went white water rafting in Gillatan! The more you hike in Yellowstone the scenery is even more beautiful! Plenty of waterfalls! Definitely will be back!

Perfect spot for our stay!
This was the perfect house for our stay when visiting our son who works at Galloup’s Slide Inn. Super close to the shop and a short walk to fish in the Madison. Sitting on the patio with our coffee looking at the mountains in the sunshine was heaven. Easy drive to Yellowstone to spend a day too! The house had everything we needed, plenty of space and was very clean. We will be back!

Lovely Little Cabin
Cute little cabin set up for the perfect fishing trip. It’s a fun walk down to the water. In a central location with easy access to West Yellowstone, Ennis, and Virginia City. The hosts were very responsive and kind.

We live in Tucson, Arizona. Our family has been fishing in the Yellowstone area since the 1960s. Since the 1970s, we've been vacationing every summer in the area. We bought the 20 acre property in 1983. For years we camped on it. In the recent years we built two houses, one for us to live in during the summer and a second for others to enjoy!

Why they chose this property

This property is next to the infamous "slide mountain". It has unique access to Madison River where there is great fishing and hiking. The property has a really great location. It's near a number of picturesque hiking trails, lakes for fishing and boating and of course, it's close to the entrance of Yellowstone Park.
