About Samantha Kidston
We are long time Yellowknifers, and we absolutely love living in the North. Our rental home was our actual home for 15 years. We basically gutted it when we first acquired it, and rebuilt the whole interior. It's where we started our family and we have a lot of happy memories here. We love the outdoors, boating, fishing, camping and we take full advantage of our unique geographical area. We never get tired of the landscape or the beautiful auroras that we get to view regularly. If you choose our home, we welcome you wholeheartedly and wish you a wonderful stay !
Why Samantha Kidston chose Yellowknife
Because it is very comfortable and beautiful !

Family wedding homestay
What an excellent job our hosts did anticipating our needs and some we didn't anticipate. Fall can be chilly in YK, but there were plenty of extra blankets. We were able purchase groceries and prepare meals with all the extras like spices etc already there. Minor questions about water service delivery were answered promptly and we had no gaps in service. Even an extra guest was accommodated without any problems. If ever we have an opportunity to return to YK, this is where I would stay. Even the Aurora Borealis cooperated and put on a show for our family wedding.
The inside of the house was everything I expected. If it weren't the fact that it was in an industrial area, i would've provided a 5 star rating. The house was clean. Had all the things we required, however, our crew was in Yellowknife for a working contract, and were very exhausted. We kept the place clean enough however, if I'm paying extra for a cleaning fee, it doesn't make sense why I still had to move the bed sheets into the laundry room and tidy up the kitchen at the end of our stay. We were all exhausted from working and would prefer to not have to do some of the things thst were expected of us at the end of our stay. Other than that, the place was quite cozy, with a home away from home feel that made us very comfortable. The outdoor part was very deceiving being in an industrial spot, but inside, you will be impressed.
Great trip and wonderful place
I would stay there again.
Very roomy, comfortable beds and furniture, well equipped. Anne, the manager, was in touch before, and came by the day after we arrived. She was very nice, offered helpful tips and answered all of our questions.
Very comfortable and plenty of room!
Nice, clean, and well-appointed property. Friendly and accommodating manager.
The accommodations were lovely! Everything we needed was there, it was clean and very comfortable.
It was mid November so it was pretty chilly but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The pellet stove was lit when we got there so it was warm and cozy. We could have used a dustpan but that's minor. There were lots of brochures at the home which gave us all the information we needed about Yellowknife. It was clean and tidy and the beds were comfortable. I would highly recommend staying there to anyone.
