One bedroom, one bathroom home just minutes from the Prescott Courthouse Square
About Meredith Peabody
Milt Hathaway and Meredith Peabody returned to Arizona and to Prescott after living and working for many years in Asia. Milt is a lawyer in town and Meredith teaches for Northern Arizona University and Ashford University and the Forbes School of Business. We chose Prescott for its outdoor activities, access to the forests and the friendly people. Unbeknownst to Milt, after choosing Prescott as our home, he discovered that he is related to Barnaby Hathaway Smith who rebuilt the Palace Saloon after the fire of 1900 that destroyed Whiskey Row. Barnaby Smith was the owner and proprietor for close to 40 years. There are pictures of his relative hanging in the Palace Saloon, however, it bears little resemblance.
Meredith Peabody purchased this Cottage in 2015
Why Meredith Peabody chose Nob Hill
We love this property for its historical aspects. Having been built in the late 1800's as a Carriage House when Prescott was in it's infancy, it has seen a lot of changes over the years. It has a wonderful "vibe" to it that is welcoming and makes it very special. We love it so much, that we recently "moved in" upstairs! We have two vacation rental units in the Carriage House. Please check out both of them!
What makes this Cottage unique
Some of the unique benefits to the property is its proximity to the Courthouse Square and so many of the events that take place there almost every weekend throughout the year. It’s also located on a quiet tree lined street which is delightful in the summer time.

Enjoyed the stay at Carriage House. Clean and comfortable! Very close, within walking distance, to the square and everything downtown. Charming!

Very good, meredith was a fine hostess and the property was as described.
A good location and a fine property
Unit is exceptional in location and equipment. Everything you would need for a 1 day stay or a month is in this unit. Bed is very comfortable as well as the kitchen and furnishings. We were there for Christmas parade and lighting. Unit is a short 2 block walk to Courthouse Square and good restaurants. We will be back this summer. Give this unit a try you won't be sorry.
Historic and Cute Carriage House
My husband and I enjoyed our stay at the Prescott Carriage House. We arrived early and the owner permitted us to come right on in. We were two blocks from the Courthouse Square, many restaurants, shops, and museums. We walked the Historic Nob Hill area every morning, attended events at the Courthouse Square in the evenings. We'd sit out on the little patio and have our evening cocktails.
The Carriage House was comfortable and clean. Owner did everything she could to make it comfortable for us. Our seven night stay was very enjoyable.
We look forward to staying again.
Perfect location! Great responsive host that wasn’t hovering
Cute! Adorable! Clean! Friendly! We had a wonderful experience and would definitely stay at the Carriage a House again. The home was well appointed and convenient to everything with front door parking! Our host checked on us but didn’t bother us at all. She was helpful for restaurant recommendations and we absolutely had a fun visit to Prescott.
Hi Missy: Thank you for your kind review. We enjoyed having you stay with us and look forward to hosting you again sometime soon.
All the best,
Great location near Courthouse Square
Spent 2 months in this rental within an easy walk to all that Prescott has to offer. The Courthouse Square, restaurants, shops and various seasonal activities. The owners are very responsive and easy to get along with. Porch with seating and patio table and chairs in a fenced in yard on the side of the house to enjoy the wonderful Prescott weather. Fully equipped kitchen, washer and dryer, comfy bed and quality linens. Comfortable living room with flat screen TV, cable and WiFi. All this makes for an enjoyable stay.
In less than five minutes, you can walk to the center of Prescott’s arts and entertainment district where you can enjoy the events at the Court House Square, Whiskey Row, and a large selection of restaurants, art galleries and shopping. If you like antiques, spend some time along Cortez Street at the numerous antique shops. Batterman's Auction House on Gurley has new things arriving every week. You just don't know what you'll find there! Prescott is a hiker's and mountain biker's delight. If you need some suggestions, we can give you directions to some of our favorite trails. Or if you enjoy boating, there are three wonderful lakes close by to choose from for kayaking, boating or fishing.
