South Kilkenny is also famous for its many designers and craft workshops including Kilkenny Design Center, Nicholas Mosse Pottery, Jerpoint and Duiske Glass makers, amongst many others. The City of Kilkenny is an exciting destination with a well-preserved medieval core focused on the stunning Kilkenny Castle and Gardens. It has an active arts scene with a range of galleries, studios, museums, and historic attractions. It is a great place to eat, drink, shop and explore. Kilkenny hosts several festivals over the summer months including the Kilkenny Arts Festival in August and the Cat’s Laugh comedy festival in June. The Viking city of Waterford, a short 30-minute drive away by motorway, is also a lively spot with plenty to do and see.
