A Comfortable Trailside Condo Along the Flintlock Trail with A Shared Outdoor

One of eight units in this trailside condo building, Alpen Villa 4 is located 45 feet from the ski slope. It is perfect for families or several couples and offers 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom on the main level and the kitchen, dining, 1 bathroom, and living room on the upper level. The living room offers a sofa sleeper, a brick fireplace and patio doors leading out to the upper level covered deck with a gas grill. The lower level deck has a shared hot tub overlooking the ski slope and can be accessed from the lower level patio doors of one of the bedrooms. Every 2 units share a hot tub. *The hot tub is open from Dec. 1 - April 1 only*. The lower deck also provides wood and lockable ski locker. There is access to a basement level that offers a private storage area as well as a common area with a washer and dryer. This unit has A/C and WIFI available throughout. Dogs are allowed. Alpen Villa 4 has access to Lifts #2 and #3 along the Flintlock Trail. A landline phone and cable TV is provided at this home.

We've enjoyed staying at Alpen Villa for a number of years. However, the major rate increase from July of 2023 to Sep has put it out of our price range.

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Obviously great location to easily ski in and out. The place is old and showing its age. Stove is old, TV needs an upgrade, wood burning fireplace could use a blower/insert, pull out hide-a-bed couch is uncomfortable, not ideal to share the hot tub. Overall it costs a lot to stay here and an upgrade would help justify the expense.

Great ski NYE
This property was fantastic for our family of four and our friends next door. The adjoining units was wonderful for sharing the kitchens and living spaces. The unit was well equipped and so fun. The Ms. Pac-Man/Galaga machine was a huge hit with the kids and adults. Ski in/out as advertised. Excellent stay!

Great Summer Get-Away!
Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have been coming to Powderhorn for over twenty years (and will return next summer!). The Alpen Villas suit us perfectly: beautiful views, air conditioning for those rare warm days, dishwasher, shared washer/dryer, and reasonable price. Management treats us like family and makes every effort to accommodate us during our stay. We have brought family and friends with us over the years. Don't miss Wednesday's spaghetti & meatballs at the nearby Black River Valley Pub or Friday Fish Fry at Rigoni's Inn. Cold Iron Microbrewery in downtown Ironwood is a great family-friendly spot with good selections of made on the premises beers. Almost opened White Rabbit Wine Bar promises to be a winner--just wish we had been able to stay an extra day or so for their opening.

Great place, fantastic deal
Overall it was a great place. A couple of things I talked with the management about on our last day, so overall wasn’t that important to us. Lights on bottom floor flickered. If you have younger children, you may not want them to shower, it went from just right, to very hot to cold multiple times during a shower. They explained because of the way it was plumbed they couldn’t fix that problem. Don’t count on the clothes dryer, (one set used by 8 units), took 3 hours to dry a medium load of laundry. Minor stuff, though cleaned after the last people, there was a lot of dust especially on the dresser next to the bed. No one cleaned the sliding door from the last people so we got to enjoy the dog print art on the door. It’s a minor thing but leaves a bad impression when it’s the first thing you see as you go up into the living room. Our first thought was what did we get ourselves into. When we looked into the sinks, bath, etc. it was all clean. Also the frying pan is warped, may want to invest in a different one.
