Terrible! Was charged for “excessive use of spa”!
I don’t think I will ever stay at another property ran by Destination Big Bear again! There process for completion of booking is ridiculous. We left that place cleaner then when we arrived, minus the used linens and towels. Stove was dirty and oven looked like something exploded inside. All that and we were going to be ok with it. Not leave a negative review or positive. Figured, maybe they missed it when cleaning. We followed every rule, which they have an “departure check list” one of those was to lock the spa and set the temp lower. For some reason the spa controller would not work and we couldn’t get the temp to go lower. I called property manager and let them know, I was told leave it and they would take care of it. I know the property was booked the day after we departed, I figured they left for the next people. Anyways, 2 weeks later I get an email with noticing saying, “ We received word from the spa company that after your stay, they had to do a dump and fill. This is when the water cannot be treated with chemicals to make clear so they must drain the water, refill and service. The charge for this service after your stay is $100. Thank you.” We barely used the dam spa! I have spoken to a couple people who take care of spas and pools and they mentioned that usually, the only time that needs to be done is when it’s not kept up on or when there soooooo much urine, fecal matter that it can’t be taken care of with chemical. I replied to the notice and contacted them several times to ask for details and they never responded.

This place had everything. We ended up not leaving the cabin at all during our stay because there was so much to do and enjoy there. Plus the views are breathtaking! Will be staying here again.

Uncomfortable beds. Cold rooms with big air leaks from the windows. Sewage water leaking in bedroom
Mattresses extremely uncomfortable. Sewage water was leaking and made the carpet wet in one bedroom. Called maintenance but problem not fixed. Major air leak from the sliding door in one bedroom. Maintenance didn’t respond for a whole day. Maintenance did not fix the problem. Slept in cold room for 3 days. Worst sleeping experience ever. For such an expensive cabin the sleeping accommodations did not measure up and we’re below average. I want my money back for terrible room quality and for lack of response to the problems I noted above.

Christmas 2020
The house was very nice and clean. Great views outside of all the Ski resorts. We all had a great time at this small but big house. Someone said this before but the house is on 3 floors if your an older person or not in good shape this house might not be for you. You will get winded walking up and down. It would be great for kids as they would have to go up and down the stairs and they would get sleepy. They said don’t leave any food behind but we could tell other people had left a lot of food in the cabinets. You need to take your own trash to the dump. It’s not that hard but you have no place to leave in or outside your house so you ether have to leave it in your car or take it. I just took it almost everyday the traffic wasn’t that bad most days. The house doesn’t look that great from outside but it’s good for a weekend. The inside needs new couches for sure. The tv is old and the DVD player and even a vcr is not needed anymore. They just need to buy a new smart Tv and they would make that room look all cleaned up. The fire place was graet! The BBQ was amazing!! The kitchen all worked great, except the oven had something plastic in it before we used it and when we turned it in to make Christmas dinner the whole house filled with toxic fumes. We all had to go outside until it was gone. It was cold outside so not so fun. Parking was great just two cars will fit but no issue with snow. Great views and all and all a great trip! We would stay again.
