About this property

Secluded and scenic Mountain Retreat on 2 acres, Close to Pikes Peak, Good Wifi

The Bears Den is a secluded cabin nestled on a hillside in the midst of tall pines and beautiful aspens, just 10 minutes from the historic mining and casino town of Cripple Creek. Enjoy magnificent views of Mt. Pisgah and surrounding mountain ranges from every window. We have made the Den very cozy with its 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, a game room, and a back deck with a grill and seating. Special touches from Renee and Michael make your romantic getaway or family stay an unforgettable experience.

Whether you use The Bears Den as a base for exploring the surrounding small towns and nature adventures, or as a spot to just sit and relax in the midst of the pines and aspens and enjoy the wind through the trees, we know you will come away from your stay refreshed and relaxed. You will surely appreciate the less crowded roads, the offbeat little stores and old mining towns, and all the opportunities for natural adventures in a part of the state far less familiar to many visitors to Colorado.

Did I mention the views? Just imagine sitting on the deck having your morning cup of coffee while soaking up the warm Colorado sunshine and breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and trees.
This is the perfect place to enjoy the outdoors. Lots of places for hiking, even just stepping out of the cabin is an amazing place to hike and take in the
views.

Located within 5 miles of groceries, restaurants, and gas stations. We are also located not far from Pikes Peak, Cripple Creek, Manitou Springs, Garden of the Gods and Cog railway. If you’re looking to venture even further, we are an hour away from Breckenridge, Vail, Salida and Canon City.

The Bears Den highlights one of Colorado's attractions that is often overlooked: a true mountain life experience.

The Bears Den has 3 queen bedrooms and one queen sofa bed in the living room and a wood stove. Wifi connection is very good. Our Den is your home away from home, fully stocked with all necessities. We offer coffees and teas, shampoo, conditioner, soap, hairdryer, board games, books and coloring books.

The Cripple Creek area is a secluded and mountainous region rich with wildlife--we have recently seen several foxes, a family of mountain sheep, black bears, bobcats, turkeys and mountain lions.

You can reach us at any time and we are really glad to have you as our guest.

Nice quiet little cabin
Everything was fantastic, there was a strange smell coming from the hot water heater I believe. Smelled like rotten eggs. You may want to replace that as it has been there since 1996. The inside may be rusting

I have always been a nature lover, and have enjoyed traveling widely all my life. While living in Austin, Texas, we took a trip to Colorado, and I knew I had found my home. The cooler weather in the mountains , and the open spaces, amazing views and wildlife have made my decision to move to Colorado very easy.

Since moving to this beautiful state, we have traveled to every corner of it to enjoy the skies, the landscapes, and the breathtaking beauty of the Rocky Mountains.

One of my longtime dreams was to have a bed and breakfast in some lovely spot, but of course finding the right place is the key. During a drive one weekend only minutes from our home, we chanced upon a small cabin in the middle of the woods, and immediately knew this was the spot for The Bears Den. VRBO and AirBnB then provided the perfect way for us to introduce people to this really special, “off the beaten track” corner of Colorado.

I hope you will enjoy the quiet, the clean air, and the wonderfully varied Colorado skies from The Bears Den, as well as the occasional black bears, deer, foxes, and even a rare bobcat you may see.

Why they chose this property

The Cripple Creek Mountain Estates are unique, individual cabins and houses set far apart from one another, but close enough to provide assistance in cases of emergency. Towering pine, spruce, and aspen grace these beautiful grounds, the land is spell binding! The road that goes by the Den and the other roads around the neighborhood are very nice walks. The views are magnificent and one of a kind. There is lots of wildlife that I respect and love.

What makes this property unique

It is very secluded with no neighbors in sight. It also has a Bear theme and amazing views unlike most properties that just sit between trees with no views.
