Wonderful Christmas Break
A wonderfully cozy, comfortable and fully equipped holiday cottage! We spent Christmas 2015 on this lovely eco cottage, even with 11 of us there together we had plenty of space and could all fit around the dining room table for Christmas dinner. The owners put a beautiful, fully decorated, Christmas tree in the living room for us, we had everything we needed. The surrounding countryside was ideal for walks and runs through the lanes, we all loved it.

Fabulous cottage and flat in a wonderful location
Having not used this booking previously we were delighted to find that it was as good, if not better than, the description on the website. It turned out the most marvellous location for nine adults and two children to spend Christmas. Jane, our hostess, couldn't have been more welcoming and accommodating to our needs, which made our stay all the more enjoyable. The local village people were equally as friendly - in particular the village shop and the George & Dragon. Unfortunately, the village café was closed over the Christmas period. We would most definitely recommend this cottage and location to friends and acquaintances alike.

A beautiful, tranquil cottage
We had a wonderful Christmas in the cottage with plenty of space for us all. The cottage was equipped with everything we could possibly need and the log burners made it very cosy. The views and surrounding area were delightful and the owners were very friendly and helpful. I'd thoroughly recommend staying there and hope to stay there again in the future.

It was magical! We all had a truly wonderful time!
It was a relaxing holiday in a beautiful cottage.Stunning location too. My whole family came over for Christmas. My sisters live in California and Tuscany, but were truly awed by the beautiful location in Lancashire. A magical family Christmas! A big thank you to the owners who had decorated a huge Christmas tree and strung up fairy lights for our arrival. We all had such a lovely holiday.

Rod grew up at Roeburnscar exploring the river and woods with his dog when a child. We now live further into Backsbottom Farm half a mile away through the woods. We farm this beautiful valley organically with sheep and heritage apple varieties. Our main aim is to increase the wildlife diversity of the farm.

Why they chose this property

Rod's mother lived here at Roeburnscar until 2010 After 18 months of renovations we are now able to share this special and peaceful place with others.

What makes this property unique

Three of the bedrooms (Buzzard, Dipper and Heron) have outside doors leading out onto the verandah with ever changing views of the River Roeburn and woodlands. The flat is ideal for the grandparents who want to have both privacy and closeness to the rest of the family staying in the main part of the house. Roeburnscar is part of Green Tourism and has a gold award for it's environmental credentials.
