Things to Know
Tahoe is home to many animals. You may experience bears, raccoons, mice, and other animals. Meadows are home to many rodents. When these areas are filled with water or snow, these animals move to homes in the area. You may see these animals in or near your home.
With the remote location of this property, there is no internet or cable. There is a cell phone booster in the cabin so that people can still get service, but it is spotty. This is a property for people who want to disconnect from the outside world. Be sure to print out your home guide before arriving.

If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the nightly pet fee is already included in your quote when selecting "Yes" to pets. If you would like to add more dogs, please contact us. The nightly fee ranges between $150 and $200, depending on the bedroom count, and will apply for each additional dog.

Parking notes: There is free parking available for 2 vehicles.

Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.
More information can be downloaded from the "Rental Agreement" on the checkout page.

Due to local laws or HOA requirements, guests must be at least 25 years of age to book. Guests under 25 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the duration of the reservation.

Quite and beautiful place
The area is quite. Clean place. Comfortable beds. There wasn't AC and the shower was leaking. Also, no WiFi and we did not have signal inside or outside the house.

Lovely cottage with lake views
We enjoyed our stay. The cabin had a lovely view and was near some great hiking trails to the lake. Beds were comfortable and the place was very clean. A few things in the cabin did not work as expected: the DVD player was broken, as was the dishwasher. The electrical in the house was very old and when we tried to use a space heater, the fuse blew. Also, it's very dim inside and more/better lighting would be appreciated.

Fallen Leaf Lake Cabin
For two people who wanted a base from which to go on day hikes and at which they could disconnect from work and the interweb, it was great. It's small (ideal for 2, not so good for a bigger group unless you want a lot of togetherness), but we had everything we needed other than a coffee maker (we took our own, so no problem). If you want to cook on the grill, take a meat thermometer for anything beyond burgers. There's a great trailhead nearby, and the store has basics. South Lake Tahoe is an easy drive for anything else.

Dock under construction (no private lake access)
We booked this cabin specifically for its easy and private lake access. The listing features 5 pictures of the nearby dock and explicitly mentions how close it is to the cabin. However, when we walked down to the lake, the steps down to the dock were fenced off and the dock was under construction. This was a significant construction project, and, as part of an HOA, the owner was certainly aware of it. So why weren't we? Why hadn't the listing been updated? If this listing had the correct information we could have selected several other properties. We tried to reach Vacasa, the property management company, several times with no luck, waiting on hold for more than 20 minutes. If you want to be walking distance to the lake, we don’t recommend staying here anytime soon. We’ve stayed in Tahoe for more than 20 years, dealing directly with owners (pretty sure VRBO used to stand for Vacation Rentals By Owner) and we’ve always had easy, pleasant experiences. The cabin itself was fine for two people. There was plenty of dust and some questionably clean linens (stains, hair). The dishes were notably dirty. We could have dealt with all this but without the nearby lake access we came for, we left early.
