About this property

Custom Crafted Unique Home~ FABULOUS group lodging ~ 1.3 miles from Harbor

Juniper Lane Guest House is a hip and unique Guest House nestled on the edge of Friday Harbor overlooking Beaverton Valley. It has a rural feel yet is still close to town. Juniper Lane is a custom-crafted bold mosaic of exotic woods, tile, art, and color. The property boasts a rural feel, yet is just on the edge of town. We take great pride in having excellent quality beds all purchased since 2015, an impeccably clean rental upon your arrival, and really nice bedding that is constantly rotated. We have chilled martini glasses, wine glasses, and Oyster shuckers waiting for you to experience a true Northwest and San Juan delight! There really is magic in the details of this property. Many architects and wood lovers alike have enjoyed the craftsmanship and rare woods used in the interior finish of the house. The property has an additional cabin rental if your group expands. The owners live on site in an adjacent house and are available should you need anything but give you space to enjoy the property as your own.

Amazing, Tranquil, Beautiful Juniper Inn
The pictures do not even begin to depict just how beautiful and tranquil this property is. My family (10 of us) spent the most amazing week at the Juniper Inn. The Inn is impeccably clean. The comfort is a level above. You have all the amenities you could ever want or need, and Juniper is the most gracious accommodating host. Looking forward to returning!!

The Dream Wedding
My sister and brother and their adult children, along with my husband and I stayed in the house together for our sons wedding that took place at Saltwater Farms, just a mile from the house. This house exceeded our expectations and is so fun and so convenient to everything. I wish we had been able to chill in the back, but we were on the go with wedding stuff daily. I will say that we could hear the sheep in the morning so sweetly across the pasture, and the hop to the Salty Fox coffee every morning was a breeze. The owner greeted us right away when we arrived. The rooms are so lovely, everything was perfect. I wish I had a reason to have that many people travel with me again - I'd always stay there!

Could be my new favorite...
This property is amazing with its pastoral setting, great decor, and convenience to so many things. Juniper is a great host - very accommodating and a great communicator. We enjoyed the fire pit most nights and loved everything about our stay. It was perfect for our group of eight.

About the host

Host profile image
Juniper was born and raised on San Juan Island and has family that dates back 5 generations. Her great grand parents were The Settle's family that were the lighthouse keepers at lime kiln point state park. Her Grandmother was raised in the park and had many amazing stories of life growing up on San Juan. Her husband Sean moved here as a child in the early 70's. He left after high school and eventually moved back for a rural lifestyle after years of the NYC rat race! Sean's father is South African and spent his career as a captain at sea, logging more hours of his life on the water than land (so far anyway). His mother resides on San Juan in a little house by the sea, tending her gardens, and being a Nana extraordinaire. Sean is a designer and builder, passionate soul surfer, artist, husband, and loving father to our 3 1/2 son, Salvador. Juniper has worked in various forms of the tourism industry since she was 11 years old. From selling ice on the docks at for .25 cents mark up per bag, bussing tables at restaurants, dispatching taxis, waitressing, port docks, etc.! Juniper spent her 20's working for 9 or 10 months a year and traveling the world for the remaining months until building and opening the guest house in 2004. Her parents are on the island and reside in the home they built in the 80's. Her Dad has the Island's Sawmill that specializes in windfall, beachcomb, and selective harvest timber, and her step-mother was an incredible seamstress for many years, she made all of the curtains in the guest house (there are a lot)!

Why they chose this property

Born here, have traveled all over the world and there is no place we'd rather call home!

What makes this property unique
