About this property

Secluded studio-style cabin on the rushing Wind River tucked under cottonwoods

This newly renovated 2BR/1BA studio cabin offers everything you need or want in a small, cozy package. Retreat just 10 minutes from downtown Dubois, tucked in along the Wind River on the secluded edge of the Wind River Indian Reservation and backed up against the stunning red cliffs that lead into the Badlands. You'll forget about the world when you step onto this property and enjoy some of the best fly fishing imaginable - the Wind is world-renowned for its trout (brown, rainbow, and cutthroat) and this property has gone untouched for decades! It's under new ownership and has been renovated for rentals. If you're not an angler, you'll appreciate the escape this cabin offers; stay tucked into the cozy hideout and enjoy the views of the river, the Wind River and Absaroka Mountain ranges, and the abundant wildlife. The surrounding lands are home to the nation's largest Bighorn Sheep herd, plus whitetail and mule deer, antelope, and moose frequenting the area! Enjoy hiking, kayaking, fishing, photography, cycling, and more in this wonderful place.

Why they chose this property

The appeal of the privacy and seclusion of this property with Wind River frontage located inside the Wind River Indian Reservation made this a not to be missed property. Getting in on the "tiny house" movement we lovingly renovated this 450 SF fishing cabin and subsequently added a small 170 SF log cabin master bedroom offering a total of 620 SF. It sits on the site of the original Yellowstone Highway with the old road bed still visible in spots. Carriages with old west adventurers traveled by this site for refreshments and lodging on trips to Yellowstone and the west coast. Experience a taste of the past as you enjoy the solitude this property has to offer. Quaint gravel drive leads down from Highway 26 to the private cabin location along the riverbank.
.

What makes this property unique

Private Wind River access inside the Wind River Indian Reservation - world class fishing on the Wind! This private area has been fished so infrequently over the years because of it's location inside the reservation - an angler's dream vacation spot! Record brown trout are awaiting you!
