About this property

Rustic Lakeside Log Cabins

As part of a century old farm on Ferguson Lake, we offer two lakeside cabins or camping where vacationers can enjoy swimming, boating, fishing or just relaxation. The rustic log cabins feature a windowed porch, wood stove, air conditioning, and can sleep 6 to 8 individuals. They have a gas range, refrigerator, microwave and BBQ. The cabin has running potable hot and cold water while shower and washroom facilities (ladies and men sections) are in a separate building. During the winter (Nov through April), the running water and washroom facilities are not operational, however an outhouse is available. This cabin is approximately 175 ft from the beach area.
Next to this Upper cabin is a log "cookhouse" that contains a fridge, table and chairs, couch and queen bed. There are no cooking facilities in the cookhouse but it can be used for overflow of a larger group from the Upper Cabin. Please enquire as to its' availability.
The other similar cabin on the same property is offered in VRBO listing #1263709 which has separate availability.
Ferguson Lake has large-mouth bass, walleye and pike for the avid fisherman. There is a sandy beach ideal for children to play and swim in and they can catch bass from the dock. There is a raft in the lake to swim at or lounge on and a campfire area at water’s edge (firewood included).
We are close to Logos Land water park, Calabogie Motorsports Park, 5 golf courses (Dragonfly, Renfrew, Calabogie Highlands, Oaks of Cobden and Whitetail), hiking destinations, ATV trails and numerous other lakes and rivers. We have miles of marked walking trails on hundreds of acres consisting of our own property and adjacent Crown lands. Winter activities can include skiing at nearby Calabogie peaks, snowmobiling on local trails or ice-fishing on Ferguson Lake or mumerous others.
During the winter months, cabin running water and the washroom and shower building is not in service but there is an "outhouse" available.

Misleading
We stayed in the upper cabin which is in between the owners home and his mother in laws home. Felt watched by the owner our entire stay. Shared the beach front (which is basically a swamp with lots of weeds) with 2 parents and their little kids. There is no bathroom in the cabin so you’re only choice is to use the out house which is up a steep hill behind the cabin or walk to the co-ed washrooms which is past the owners home than past a barn. Had a weird stay to say the least, won’t be back.

Upper cabin 3 night rental
Our family stayed with Wally on their beautiful property at Lake Ferguson in June. As well as being fantastic and accommodating hosts their cabin was fully stocked inside and we were never without. Since making the booking communication was clear and we never ran into any troubles. Beautiful property very serene and tranquil. Thank you!

A beautiful, calm and serene stay!
Wally and Sandra were amazing, kind, and very friendly hosts! Super accommodating too, they were in contact with us during our trip making sure we were taken care of. The property was beautiful, clean, calm and serene. My boyfriend and I highly enjoyed our stay here, we didn't want to leave! There was so much to do on the property and so many things to do around the area. We were never bored! We also had wonderful weather during the trip! We ended up leaving the day before a big storm hit the Calabogie/Renfrew area during the Ottawa-Gatineau tornado. Hope everything is okay up there and everyone is doing well! All in all, It was a wonderful stay, and we can't wait to return to Ferguson Lake Cabins for our next cottage trip. :)

We grew up in the local area, worked in Ottawa, and are now semi-retired and are continuing to operate the seasonal cabins located on Ferguson Lake. We and a parent live in 2 houses also located on the property.

Why they chose this property

The property has been owned by several generations of our family since the early 1900's. The cabins were built in the 1950's. Some of our clients from the US and Canada have family members staying with us over a 50 year period. We have visited, vacationed and worked here as children and adults are now continuing the tradition of sharing our part of the lake.
