Clean, well furnished, great views, great location!

The drive up the mountain is beautiful! You can tell how special the cabin is from the moment you pull into the drive. The cabin and property is beautiful. The cabin itself is well furnished and most comfortable. I went with three friends for a girls weekend. We had a blast in the evenings on the porch and in the living room talking and playing scrabble. The cabin has everything you need. The beds are comfortable and the rooms well appointed. We hiked the trails from the cabin and also visited Brasstown Falls. They were absolutely beautiful. We rafted the Chattooga with Wildwater LTD. I have rafted with them before, and they are awesome. Josh was our guide and did an excellent job of telling us about the area and the river and keeping us in the raft:). Clayton is a culinary delight! From the burgers and wings at the Universal Joint to the trout at Fortify, breakfast at the Rusty Bike and Italian food at Mama G’s, it was all excellent. I have been coming to this area for many years. It is beautiful and there is so much to do. Betsy’s cabin only added to trip and I hope to be able to stay here again in the not so distant future.

Owner's Response: We LOVE hearing about your great weekend!! How nice of you to tell everyone about all the great spots to dine. You hit many of our favorites as well! We have had many wonderful meals at the Rusty Bike Cafe, Mama G's, Universal Joint and hear the best things about Fortify. We also LOVE the river. Come again soon!! Thank you for the kind review.... we so appreciate you taking the time to submit it for others to see.

Lovely spot!

  • 4 of 5

Cabin was very clean and nice. Kitchen and bath were well equipped. Wonderful wood burning fireplace in cozy living room. Only downside is no dining area indoors, but the hike down to the waterfall was awesome, if a little challenging coming back up. This would be a perfect cabin for a family. We had a lovely time!

Owner's Response: We are always grateful when a guest takes the time to write a review... thank you! So glad you enjoyed your stay and the hike and hope you can come again soon. For our future guests.... our builder chose to allow space for an outdoor porch with a view rather than an indoor dining room but we do have a 4 seat breakfast bar with barstools in the kitchen and table/chairs that will seat 4+ out on the porch which can be used for dining May to October. We also have an oak table/4 chairs on the upper level in the loft area that has a leaf to be used for eating for larger groups.... this table can seat up to 8 when the leaf is in. Families use that when coming for the holidays and we do have the extra chairs in the loft.

Perfect vacation cabin

  • 5 of 5

This was our first time using VRBO and we will use it again. The day before our trip to Atlanta we were still searching for a place to spend time in the mountains close to the Chattooga River and Tallauha Falls. I came across Betsy’s cabin which had all the amenities I was looking for. Betsy was great to work with. She provided great detailed instructions about the cabin and directions. I would make sure the first time driving up to the cabin is during daylight - the drive up Screamer Mountain is a screamer. The cabin was clean and very well maintained. It had everything - comfortable beds, lots of towels, AC, and good internet. The cabin was well stocked with pots, pans and dishes etc. It had the seclusion and peace we were looking for, and remarkably, the cabin is just a short drive down the mountain to groceries, restaurants, whitewater rafting and Tallulah Gorge State Park. It has two decks with great views of the mountains and stars. My daughter spent hours on the deck relaxing on the porch swing and capturing the view. My son enjoyed the cabin and relaxed. The family had dinner out on the deck every evening enjoying the fresh air. It really exceeded our expectations! Betsy, thank you for allowing us to check out late - I know you can’t always accommodate but in our case you did. We were able to enjoy going to the bottom of Tallulah Gorge. We highly recommend Betsy’s cabin – it was perfect. Thanks Jesse and Tracy

Excellent! Very clean place thats secluded and peaceful.

  • 5 of 5

We really liked this property alot. We were very close to town for shopping, restaurants but the home was in the woods for sure. Very peaceful and secluded feeling. We saw some wildlife (whitetailed deer) coming back in the evening. The place was spotless clean and nicely decorated. The drive up was a bit sketchy but doable with a frontwheel drive minivan. Follow the instruction she gave you as Google Maps was way off and had us driving in circles!

This place was everything you asked for and more. Very clean and was very well stocked. Owner provided directions how to get to the cabin which were very detailed and great to follow. We were able to go whitewater rafting and ziplining at Wildwater which was only a 20 min drive to Long Creek, SC. We also hiked down the Talluluah Falls/Gorge which was only 10 min away and took a drive to Helen, GA which was 45 min. So much to do!!! It was perfect for our family vacation.

Great Comfort-Great Privacy-Great Views-Outstanding Accomodations-More Than Ample Supplies

  • 5 of 5

We came to Rabun County to celebrate our 29th wedding anniversary. The area has a lot of meaning and memories to us. We couldn't have stayed at a better place. I believe God had a hand in helping us choose your cabin. It was so comfortable and relaxing. I really did enjoy the trip up the mountain to access it,(the trip down was fun too!). It was pretty warm outside so we spent most of our time in the very comfortable a/c. Just loved watching the sun come up from behind the mountain each morning, looking out from the deck. We are hoping to come back in the fall to make use of the firepit and outdoor area. From seeing the view we had in July, I can imagine the beauty it will have with the leaves changing colors. Thank you for providing such a well stocked cabin that met ALL our needs. Looking Forward To Being Return Visitors, Charlie and Lynda Frezza
