This home is located on the beach(Gulf of Mexico), one and a half miles from the public beaches north and south of the home which makes for a very private and secluded setting with minimal beach traffic (usually less then 10 people seen a day). It is less then 7 miles to area grocery shopping, retail, movies, and restaurants. Downtown Englewood is 8 miles away and is a small,quaint town with many specialty shops,restaurants and antique stores. Downtown Sarasota is 30 minutes away with fine dining, theater and high end shopping.
The home is approximately 80 minutes from Tampa and Tampa International Airport, and major sports teams including the Bucs, Rays and Lightning. It is ideally situated for spring training baseball games as it is centrally located between the Sarasota and Ft Myers teams and within 2 hours of the Orlando and Lakeland teams.
The home is 2 hours from Disney World and all the major Orlando attractions.
Nearby (less than 30 minutes), are 12+ golf courses of varying difficulty that will challenge golfers of nearly any level; Most courses are public, but there are some semi- private courses as well with availability from Nov to April.
Boats and jet skies are available on the Island to rent by the hour or the day, and the Freedom Boat Club has a site at Stump Pass for its members. The boating is fantastic with inshore boating on Lemon Bay and Stump Pass as well as offshore boating . There are many secluded beaches and sandbars in the area which are great picnic/cookout sites. Waterski and tubing areas abound inshore or near the beaches. During the winter season there is parasailing available. Kite Board lessons and rentals are also nearby.
Fishing is excellent right from the shore as well as from the Venice Jetties-8 miles away. Many excellent and nationally known fishing guides charter out of Englewood, Charlotte Harbor or Boca Grande. Tarpon season in Boca Grande and in the waters in front of the house extends from April- July. Tarpon are easily spotted rolling in the surf and easily seen from the deck of the house each morning. A sea kayak is available at the house for those adventurous fishing types.
The best feature is the beach out the back door with excellent swimming, snorkeling, miles of walking and shelling or just relaxing on the Gulf of Mexico!
