The Lauberhorn downhill course is renown as the toughest for endurance on the world cup season and is open for public skiing after the race. There is both high level wide pistes and wood lined runs back to the village. The chalet is less than 5 minutes walk from the quad chair lift and less than 15 minutes walk from the station and main shopping area.
In addition for non skiers there are other attractions. Everyone should visit the Jungfraujoch - the highest railway station in Europe at 11,500ft, and the Schilthorn at 10,000ft the revolving restaurant famous from the James Bond film.The chalet is very well equipped to meet your needs,

Culture: One of the first visitors was Felix Mendelssohn.
In his honour Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy takes place each year in August as the Mendelssohn music week. Mendelssohn visited Wengen in 1842 and on 21 August drew the place Wengen with the Jungfrau in the background. In August 2004 the Mendelssohn memorial place was built in Wengen and inaugurated solemnly.
View from the memorial place is spectacular and not far from the chalet.
Over the centuries many historic figures have visited Wengen: Julius Caesar, Napoleon, Adolf Hitler, as well as luminaries in science, business, sports and mountaineering.Originally a farming community, the first tourists started to arrive in the mountain village during the early 19th century.
Since 1930 the Lauberhorn ski races have been held in Wengen. The races consist of a downhill run, a slalom, and a combined event. In addition to being one of the technically most challenging downhill races, the Lauberhorn is the longest race in the world.
