Our fishing village Greetsiel is something special. It is well protected by two levees in the Leybucht. Kapitämshäuser beautifully restored, the unique historical Sielhafen form directly in the center and the crab fishing fleet in an impressive backdrop as a home movie. Greetsiel generally is considered the finest on the East Frisian coast Sielort and as a 'pearl' East Friesland. It offers a variety every day and so many of our guests are discovering the car at rest and on foot, by bike or boat in the town and the surrounding landscape unique. The Lower Saxony Wadden Sea directly from us at the door was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Nowhere else in the world they might be natural. Greetsiel offers a good infrastructure, as shops, doctors and a pharmacy are available. The offer is completed by a variety of restaurants for every taste and budget. From your home 'port' it is just a few minutes all the sights in town, and the dike. Pier can be found in a few minutes by boat and on 'Popp Inga station' you can rent cheap bicycles as good as new. You can combine bike and boat through the action 'and paddle wheel', with which you can start to Greetsiel. Greetsiel it is just a stone's throw of the interesting cities Aurich Ostfriesland, northern and empty. The seaport city of Emden is only about 17 km and is always worth visiting. At the town hall begins Ratsdelft (- port), conveys the sense of maritime flair, and culturally, the city has to offer too much: Henri Nannen world famous Art Gallery, the National Museum with armor and weapons collection, a Bunker Museum, the original and much more OTTO-house. Greetsiel from easy access to the ferry dock to the East Frisian Islands in the north dike, Emden and the other Sielorten along the coast. Also daily boat trips start from Greetsiel to the islands or along the coast. Also for the little ones is neglected: An adventure playground, the lighthouse Lükko-house, which Nabu-house and the original OTTO Leuchtttrum in Pilsum provide variety. We could still imagine a lot of interesting, but it's best to come to Greetsiel and explore it for yourself So, see you soon in 'port' in Greetsiel.
