Tuscany is famous for both its natural and its artistic heritage. Many places of artistic interest can be easily reached from Castell’Anselmo. Livorno is a charming seaside town, founded by the Medici family and still dotted with fosses and fortresses dating back to those times. The town also has a large number of Liberty style villas. Lovers of the Macchiaioli school should not miss the Fattori Museum where many works by Macchiaioli painters are displayed. Pisa with its leading tower is only a 20 minute drive; Lucca can be reached in 40 minutes; both Volterra and Florence lie approximately 50 minutes from the farmhouse. Numerous sporting activities, from hang-gliding (within the farm) to riding, golf and trekking are available nearby. The sea is just behind the hills, Calafuria, Castiglioncello and Quercianella lie 20 minutes away from the farm, it takes 45 minutes to get to Forte dei Marmi.
