Greetsiel is probably one of the most picturesque fishing ports on the North Sea coast. He has retained its original charm. Of particular interest is the historic center of the old port with beautifully restored houses and many cozy restaurants and Fischerstuben. Look at the old sluice gate from where the shrimp boats return to port, and a hive of activity begins to unload the catch. Or stroll to the twin mills, drink the famous Ostfriesentee or take a boat trip to the lock through the old sluices or even to the East Frisian Islands. Also, the water park, mudflats and long dike walking or cycling, for example, to Pilsum lighthouse or along the salt marsh with its typical flora and fauna add to the relaxation.
