A 2 bedroom villa for 6, near restaurants, shopping, airport, Nice and Antibes

Villa Borisella is a refurbished home with a spacious natural garden, in the medieval village of Haut de Cagnes. The villa gets the sun most of the day, but it is possible to find shade, thanks to high trees.

Villa Borisella is named after the Russian painter Boris Grigoriev, who used to live here. Lots of interesting people have been to parties in the garden, among them the Russian composer Rakmaninov.

The main entrance is on the ground level, with a little study, and a guest bedroom with a private full bathroom. A staircase takes you to the main floor with a large combined living- and dining-room, only separated by a vault. The living-room is furnished with two beds that serve as an angle sofa in front of the TV. Doors lead out to a balcony along the house, a terrace and the garden. The master bedroom has an en-suite shower, and a toilet just outside. The open kitchen offers all modern amenities.

Access and parking in Haut de Cagnes: Haut de Cagnes being a medieval hilltop village, there are both normal (but narrow) streets for cars, and little cobbled alleys for pedestrians. Also, some of the streets are steep, others are not. There is a free shuttle bus that takes you up and down between the village and Cagnes-sur-Mer at the foot of the hill. The ride only takes around 5 minutes.

Please note that you can´t drive all the way up to Villa Borisella. You need to stop either in the street above, or the street below. From there, a cobbled alley takes you to the house (as shown in photos). If you walk up to the village, there is a stop for the shuttle bus. If you walk downwards, there is a little street where you can park, and which takes you to the centre of Cagnes-sur-Mer. A supermarket and a bakery is within a 5 min walk, the city centre about 5-10 min.

Haut de Cagnes is a perched village of the Riviera, the medieval crown of the town Cagnes sur Mer, home of Auguste Renoir during his last 30 years. It is one of the last authentic villages not overrun by tourist shops where people live year round and home to numerous artists and painters who come each year for its beautiful setting and incomparable light. The village, though free of tourist traps is only steps away from conveniences (great covered provencal market as well as daily farmers' market) either by way of walking or a free shuttle. There are 15 restaurants to choose from, one of them with a Guide Michelin star, and a jazz club. The sea can be reached in a 20-30 minutes' walk. By car, it is 10-20 minutes from Nice airport and Antibes. Public transport to nearby St. Paul de Vence, Grasse, Cannes, and Italy is all within walking distance. Haut de Cagnes does provide it all by its central location and dual qualities. Historical - yet with modern accessible amenities.

40% booking fee, bank transfer or Paypal(+fee), non-refundable unless we find other renters. The balance and the damage deposit are either paid 50 days prior to arrival, or cash on arrival. The cleaning/linen fees are paid cash on arrival.
