Riola Sardo is a beautiful, tranquil village in the Sinis peninsula located 10km from the closest beach. Within 20 mins by car you can reach the stunning, wild and unspoilt beaches of Sardinia's west coast. Putzu Idu, Mari Ermi, Is Arutas, S'Archittu and San Giovanni are wonderful for diving, snorkelling, boat trips and kayaking. Capo Mannu, Sardinia’s most famous surf and wind surf spot is close by. The renowned golf club, Is Arenas Resort, is equipped with 18 holes and offers not only golf lessons but also a unique experience in this area: in fact, the 5-star hotel is open for most of the season also to visitors that are not guests and, among other things, proposes a top class restaurant, drinks by the pool, full breakfasts and SPA facilities. In the Riola area there is ample opportunity for wine tasting by visiting the local vinyards. For archaeology fans Santa Cristina, Nuraghe Losa, Cornus and Tharros ruins are a must see. Try Putzu Idu lagoon for spectacular bird watching, and the oasis of peace and nature in the 'Oasi Naturalistica di Seu'. For lots of fun activities for the little ones visit Torre Grande beach near Oristano. In February/March the surrounding area is the location of several carnival events especially the specatular 'Sartiglia'
