My loft is located in Old Manchester just across the James River from downtown Richmond. Manchester is an artsy community of old converted manufacturing buildings that are now trendy lofts housing art studios and urban apartments. A quick trip across the James River brings you into downtown Richmond for major employment and trendy restaurants. The James River offers recreational activities like swimming, sunbathing,& rafting, as well as a lovely walking tour along the banks of the river. Richmond is full of history with several museums devoted to the American Civil War in very close proximity. MCV, VCU, the Capital, the Carpenter Center, and other entertainment venues are close by.
