Location, location, location!
Walk out the front door of our block and you're immediately on the South Bank River Walk with fabulous views of Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament, the London Eye, the Tate Gallery and other famous London landmarks. You can walk along here for several miles right through the heart of London, or take the river taxi from the Wharf! Walk out the back of our complex and a subway just outside leads to a major transport hub - trains, underground, buses & bikes!
There is the Victoria Line Tube (Underground) which in three stops will take you into the West End with its shops and theaters. A bus station connects to almost anywhere, once you learn the London bus system! Finally, there is the overground railway to Waterloo, with easy connections to the City (financial district). Take the railway the other way and in three stops you're in Wimbledon, home of the tennis championships.
We set this up as our home away from home, with all the home comforts we like to expect! Amazingly, here in the heart of one of the world?s busiest cities, you will find an oasis of peace. It must have something to do with the ebb and flow of the Thames with its barges, cormorants, and the changing of light and tide. In the spring or summer, enjoy a reviving drink on the balcony in the late afternoon or early evening sun.
The accommodation has been very comfortably furnished. There's an open plan living room with leather chair and sofa, dining area with seating for four to six guests and an archway leading through to the superbly equipped kitchen (cafe latte doors and stainless steel appliances).
The master bedroom has a very comfortable large Queen bed, with wonderful views across the balcony to the river. Waking up to the early morning's sun reflecting off the buildings opposite and onto the river is a unique London experience.
The second bedroom doubles as a den/office with large picture windows. There is a daybed, which opens into a double (two mattresses), a desk and the wireless internet hub. The bathroom has Villeroy and Boch fixtures with bath and shower (over). Ralph Lauren linens are supplied.
St George Wharf (our complex) is the flagship riverside development of one of London's leading developers. It has the benefit of a 24 hour Concierge service. We now have several riverside restaurants and a pub; takeouts; and a Tesco Express grocery store. The choice is yours, eat out on-site or buy food in either an easy, ready-made meal or the ingredients for a gourmet feast!
