Travel tips: ALERT DISNEY HAS CHANGED THE FAST PASS RULES!
On our recent trip to Orlando as part of our research to help our guests we checked out Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Hollywood studios and Universal studios. We also went to the two disney water parks to evaluate them and give advice to our guests.
Disney has changed the rules for their fast passes. This will alter how you do things at the parks you can no longer get a fastpass and then come back at any later time after the valid time on your ticket. You MUST COME BACK DURING THE HOUR THEY HAVE SET ASIDE FOR YOU TO FASTPASS THE RIDE OR YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED ON THE RIDE. DISNEY IS VERY STRICT WITH THIS POLICY!!!!
All the parks were still very good and you can get on rides in a reasonable time. I would reccommend using the single rider line for Everest, rock and roll rollercoaster. Remember if you have an infant or young child that you can use the rider switch pass which is currently not tied to a time limit.
Thunder mountain railroad is under construction and that made the rides at Magic Kingdom a little more backed up than usual.
If you are going to ride on The Toy Story ride at Hollywood studios you need to get there before the park opens and then fast pass it or just jump in line the wait will be very long the rest of the day.
The water parks are both amazing and a great break from the other parks. Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon both have plenty of things for kids of all ages and adults to enjoy.
Universal was also a good park I had not been in a long time and we wanted to go to give our guests our current perspective on the park. Good roller coasters and water rides. Over all not as clean as Disney but still fine. The Harry Potter ride has plenty of cool things to check out while in line. The line is long for this one but the Universal equivalent of fastpass is pretty expensive at 50-70 bucks on top of you park ticket for the day. If you can afford it you should be able to walk onto the rides but if you have a family it will cost you plenty.
Hope this is helpful and I would be glad to give you any further insights I have regarding the parks or the orlando area.
anyone who rents the home is eligible for discounted tickets to the parks. As when you book the home how to get theses.

More Orlando Area Information:
Don't forget that Tampa is a short drive from Orlando. You can easily get to the beach at St. Petes or head the other direction to Cocoa Beach and head to Ron Jon's Surf Shop. We have done both and have been pleased with both beaches. If you like waves the surfing will be better on the East coast over at Cocoa Beach.
Also before you get to Tampa you can go to Busch Gardens which has some great rides and is a very nice park. If your kids are asking for bigger rides than Disney has to offer this is a great option. Busch Gardens has a pass that can be used for admission to all of their parks called a platinum pass which will also get you into Sea World and aquatica and gets you free parking and discounts off items purchased in the parks which pays for itself if you go enough times to the parks. We have really enjoyed going to Sea world and Aquatica which is their water park. The rides at sea world are actually very good. The Kraken is consistently listed among the best roller coasters in the world.
With so much to do it can be tough to take it all in and enjoy your vacation. We have usually taken at least a couple of days off to just hang out and relax at home or at a water park which is a great way to break up the bigger days of walking and standing in lines at the amusement parks. We look forward to having you stay in our home for your next vacation and hope that you find this information useful.
