Located on the East End of St. Thomas (USVI), Villa Maitland is an historic “Eden on the Shores” where you, your family and friends will enjoy the same privacy and comfort that has made this one acre estate a beloved gathering place for an extended family for more than two generations. Complete with a private beach and sweeping views of St. John, Tortola, and Thatch Cay, this truly original addition to the rental market boasts an expansive three bedroom main house as well as a 2 bedroom guest cottage. Enjoy the island breezes by the pool, a game of horseshoes or an evening on the beach looking at the stars.

Over an acre of private grounds include a beachfront tiki hut, koi pond, atrium garden, private pier and deck and a hammock strung between coconut palms just feet from the lapping surf. Beyond your private sandy beach, a sheltered cove gives way to the phenomenal snorkeling of Pelican Point. Easily go to a nearby beach or just relax in the privacy of your own island retreat.

Sleeping accomodations for Villa Maitland: There are 5 separate bedrooms (i.e., in separate rooms, with closets, own bathrooms, air conditioners, etc.) -- 3 in the main house and 2 in the guest cottage. In the main house, each of the 3 large bedrooms has a king-sized bed; one has an additional sofa bed, and one has twin trundle beds. Additionally, there are two sofa beds in the main house; one in the rec room (where the pool table is) and another room (outside one of the bedrooms, but a very large room with it's own bathroom). The main house can sleep a total of 14, with 2 people in each bed and sofa bed.

In the cottage, there is a large bedroom with a king sized bed and a sofa bed, an additional smaller bedroom with twin beds that can be made into a king-sized bed and a sofa bed in the main living room. All the sofa beds are doubles or queens. The cottage can sleep a total of 8 people, with 2 people in each bed and sofa bed.

There are many antique pieces of furniture and art throughout Villa Maitland. Hand-painted European tile murals are set into the walls and there are decorative antique hand-painted tiles are all over the property. Beautiful mahogany trim and soaring 18 ft. ceilings throughout and a grand 12 ft. mahogany chandelier is reminiscent of a bygone era. Professionally-maintained lush, mature tropical gardens are a favorite of amazing tropical birds year-round. Our private pier goes right into the water where one can see the reef and lots of large, colorful tropical fish. Because of our location, you feel like you are on your own private island and the only people you encounter are those waving from yachts and sailboats on the water. A truly unique property, Villa Maitland is a beautiful tropical paradise.
